Learn to dive in just three days and earn a globally recognised certification allowing you to dive independently with a buddy to 18 metres. This structured beginner course combines theory, pool training, and open water dives in Madeira’s clear Atlantic waters.
This three-day course is the world’s most recognised entry-level scuba qualification and is designed for complete beginners. Training progresses from classroom-based learning to confined water skill development, followed by open water dives in the sea.
You’ll complete five theory lessons with a qualified instructor, supported by digital training materials available in multiple languages. In the swimming pool, you’ll practise core skills such as regulator recovery, mask clearing, buoyancy control, and safe ascents until you’re confident and consistent.
The final stage includes four open water dives in the sea. Here, you’ll apply your skills in real diving conditions under instructor supervision. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a worldwide recognised certification allowing you to dive with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 metres.
Training takes place in Funchal, combining classroom facilities, a dedicated training pool, and carefully selected open water dive sites suited to beginners. Dive locations are chosen based on daily sea conditions to ensure safety and comfort.
Madeira’s underwater environment offers good visibility, stable water temperatures, and diverse reef life, providing suitable conditions for new divers to develop confidence.
Participants must be at least 12 years old and able to swim independently. No prior diving experience is required. A medical questionnaire will be sent automatically and must be completed before training begins.
This course is not suitable for pregnant travellers or individuals with heart, respiratory, circulatory, or certain psychological conditions. Flying is not permitted within 12 hours after diving.
Training is delivered in small groups, allowing instructors to adapt the pace to each student and provide clear, consistent feedback. The structured pool progression ensures you are comfortable before entering open water.
Digital learning materials, multilingual instruction, full equipment, and diving insurance are included, allowing you to focus fully on gaining competence and confidence over the three days.
