Step confidently into the underwater world with the PADI Open Water Diver Course. This programme combines online learning, pool training, and real open water dives, giving you a complete introduction to scuba diving. You’ll gain internationally recognised certification and develop the skills to dive safely and independently.
The course is split into Part A and Part B for flexible learning. Part A covers PADI eLearning and confined water sessions in our purpose-built pool. Here, you’ll gain hands-on experience with buoyancy, regulator use, underwater communication, and safety drills. These sessions give you a strong foundation before entering open water.
Part B focuses on open water dives. Once Part A is successfully completed, you’ll join four open water dives at nearby coastal locations. Under instructor supervision, you’ll apply your skills in real diving environments, practice navigation, and explore marine life. Each dive reinforces your competence, building confidence for future independent diving.
During both parts, you’ll progress through structured lessons that cover dive theory, safety, and emergency procedures. Small group sizes ensure personalised guidance, and instructors provide feedback and coaching at every stage. By the end of Part B, you’ll be ready to dive independently with a buddy to depths of 18 metres.
Littlehampton Marina serves as the base for the course, with purpose-built pool facilities, classrooms, and modern equipment designed for comfort and efficient training. All briefings, equipment fitting, and debriefings take place on-site to provide a seamless and convenient experience.
Part B open water dives take place at Wraysbury Dive Centre, offering a range of conditions that help divers adapt to real-world underwater environments. The site allows exploration of diverse marine habitats while practising skills such as navigation, buoyancy control, and safety procedures under instructor supervision.
You must complete a basic medical screening and demonstrate fundamental swimming ability, including treading water for 10 minutes and swimming 200 metres without aid.
Learners aged 10–14 receive a Junior Diver certification, while older learners earn the full Open Water Diver certification. No prior diving experience is required.
The team is passionate about diving and committed to providing a safe, supportive environment for all divers. As a recognised PADI Youth Training Centre, they focus on nurturing skills, confidence, and respect for the marine environment from the very first dive.
Certified PADI AWARE partners, they emphasise environmentally responsible diving practices and sustainability. Collaborations with leading industry brands and local partners ensure access to high-quality equipment, expert guidance, and opportunities to engage with the wider diving community.
Part A is the first stage and includes PADI eLearning plus confined water sessions in the pool. This allows you to practise essential skills in a controlled environment before moving to open water.
Part B consists of four open water dives. You’ll apply skills learned in Part A under supervision, learning to navigate, manage buoyancy, and respond to real-world conditions. Completing Part A is mandatory before attempting Part B.
Yes, you can take Part A as a standalone option. This is ideal if you want to practise skills locally or schedule open water dives at a later date.
While Part A alone provides valuable knowledge and pool experience, you’ll need Part B to achieve full Open Water Diver certification. You can complete Part B when ready.
Learners must be at least 10 years old. Divers aged 10–14 will earn a Junior Diver certification, while those 15 and older receive the full Open Water Diver certification.
Instructors tailor teaching methods to suit different ages and skill levels, ensuring all learners feel confident and supported throughout the course.
All scuba gear is supplied, including mask, fins, regulator, BCD, gauges, snorkel, and cylinder. Equipment is regularly serviced and sized for each diver.
You’ll only need swimwear and a towel. Instructors will ensure everything is fitted correctly and provide guidance on safe use.
No prior experience is necessary. The course starts with theory and pool-based practice before moving to open water. Skills are taught step by step to build confidence and competence.
Instructors provide hands-on support and feedback at every stage, making the learning process safe and enjoyable.
