Fantastic time!! I’ve been wanting to get my open water license for a while and the team at Oyster Diving were super helpful and supportive! I would fully recommend!

The lure of the deep is a siren call many divers long to answer. Our PADI Deep Diver course extends your maximum depth limit to 40 meters (130ft), opening up many new and interesting dive sites. This is often a favourite specialty diving course, allowing access to sites like the M2 wreck in Portland or shark dives in the Maldives.
The course includes four open water dives, completed over two days. These dives will cover techniques for diving in the deeper range of 18-40 meters, and you'll gain experience and knowledge in managing nitrogen narcosis. The first dive of this course can also count towards your Advanced Open Water Diver or Master Scuba Diver certification. You will start with eLearning to prepare for the practical skills, using PADI’s materials available on PC, Mac, or tablet.
Throughout the course, you will focus on the reasons for deep diving and understanding your personal limits. Practical sessions will help you get familiar with specialised deep diving equipment and deep dive planning. You'll learn how to manage your gas supply effectively and how to handle gas narcosis, along with other safety considerations essential for deep diving.
Due to the depth requirements, the course is conducted at Vobster Quay, a great diving lake in Somerset, known for it's depth, visibility and attractions. This site is approximately 5 miles from Frome and 4 miles from Radstock, with easy access from the M4 and M5.
Alternative sites include Chepstow (NDAC) or St Andrews Lake, with the possibility of completing dives on our club trips. Each location is chosen to provide the optimal environment for mastering deep diving skills.
Participants must be at least 15 years old and have a PADI Adventure Diver certification or higher. This ensures you have the foundational skills necessary for the deep diving techniques covered in the course.
We offer an exceptional learning experience with highly qualified instructors who prioritise your safety and skill development. Our courses include comprehensive eLearning materials and all necessary equipment.
We provide flexible scheduling to accommodate your availability, with both weekend and weekday options. Additionally, we offer various dive locations, ensuring you get the best possible training environment.

Having not dived for 5 years I was worried that I did not know how to set up the kit and do the dive basics. This course was perfect. I was able to ask all the questions I wanted and the instructor was calm and positive. I completed the course…
