Join us for a comprehensive experience designed to elevate your sea kayaking abilities. Nestled in the scenic Dartmouth, Devon, our courses cater to paddlers of all levels. Whether you're honing your skills or just starting out, our dedicated team of expert coaches is here to guide you through a memorable and educational journey on the water.
On the first day, you'll be welcomed with a safety briefing and introduced to basic paddling techniques and stroke improvement. We'll also cover essential rescue procedures. The second day focuses on intermediate skills, including navigating tides and currents, and you'll have the opportunity to explore the local coastline and spot wildlife.
The third day delves into comprehensive rescue drills and tidal planning workshops, with practice navigating tidal conditions. On the fourth day, you'll learn advanced navigation skills and launch from remote locations to explore sea caves and rocky headlands. Finally, on the fifth day, you'll plan and execute a full-day trip, enjoy a picnic and relax on a remote sandy beach, and receive personalised feedback.
Our courses are based out of Dartmouth in the beautiful county of Devon, an ideal location for sea kayaking with its diverse coastline and abundant marine life. The course is located at Coronation Dinghy Park, Coombe Road, Dartmouth, TQ6 9PQ.
Basic kayaking experience and moderate physical fitness are required. Participants must be at least 17 years old.
We offer guided sea kayak trips and skills courses suitable for all abilities. Founded in 2011, our centre benefits from the expertise of over 15 top coaches and a diverse fleet of more than 40 sea kayaks.
Our friendly, highly qualified guides are dedicated to teaching everything you need to know, whether you're a beginner or an experienced paddler. All equipment is provided, ensuring a hassle-free experience.
Basic kayaking experience is needed. Our courses cater to a range of skill levels, ensuring everyone gets the most out of their time on the water.
We recommend bringing your own kayaking gear if you have it. Essentials include a cag, dry trousers or dry suit, buoyancy aid, kayak boots, and any personal safety equipment.
Accommodation is not included in the course fee. Participants are responsible for arranging their own lodging.
Dartmouth offers a variety of accommodation options ranging from budget-friendly B&Bs to luxury hotels. We can provide a list of recommended places upon request.
Included with all of our courses is the internationally recognised Paddle UK (formerly British Canoeing) Paddle Start Certificate.

To ensure you get lots of personal attention and coaching we have a maximum Coach/Client ratio of 1:6. You can expect to meet likeminded people with a passion for the outdoors.
Our friendly welcoming instructors are full of enthusiasm for Sea Kayaking and they will help the group get the most from the course in a relaxed and supportive environment.
A choice of over 40 Sea Kayak’s by P & H, VALLEY, NORTH SHORE, DAGGER, VENTURE, WILDERNESS SYSTEM, WAVESPORT and PERCEPTION.
We also have a large range of Paddles, Buoyancy aids, Cags, Spraydecks, Charts, VHF Radios, Sea Kayak Guides and a range of personal safety equipment for you to try out.
Our waterfront location is 100m from the slipway and we have toilets and secure storage facilities here. For chart work on wild winter days, we have a large comfortable classroom 100m from the kayak base.
Level 1 – Ideally suited to complete beginners, people who have never been in a kayak, but who want a fun experience and to learn the basic skills necessary to enjoy being on the water.
Level 2 – This is by far our most popular course. It is designed as a springboard for people who are keen to learn the skills that will help them start to plan their own kayak trips. Our World-Class Sea Kayak Destination makes each day of the course a unique and memorable experience
Level 3 – This course is aimed at keen Sea Paddlers who understand the fundamentals, and want to take their skills to the next level. Ideally they should be paddling regularly with a club and have some self rescue technique’s or a good roll.
Level 4 - You should be an active and experienced sea paddler; over the years you should have undertaken some longer and more challenging expeditions. You should already have the ability to be an active part of the group and know how to help others if they get into difficulty.
Our standard 2-day courses is packed full of information and top coaching that will help you learn new skills and gain knowledge. You will get to enjoy the classic Sea Kayaking on offer around Dartmouth.
On our 5-day courses, you will do a deep dive into the world of Sea Kayaking. You will get to plan trips and launch from a variety of remote locations. Every day is a unique experience that you will remember for years to come.
