You will need to get up early to enjoy the magnificent sunrise in the perpetually changing morning light. We then head out on the trail through a rhododendron forest before coming to Bayeli Kharka. You will also have some excellent views of the Annapurna Ranges along this section of the trail. From Bayeli you have a view of Mt. Dhaulagiri (the world’s 7th highest peak).
Today will be easy-going as we trek to Swanta, famous for having its own cheese factory that you can visit and sample some of its cheeses – including yak cheeses. Today we head out on the trail to Ghorepani, renowned for its mountain views – especially during the changing light at sunrise and sunset. Initially we trek to Chitre Village and then take the larger trail to Ghorepani from where we can view Mt. Dhaulagiri, Machapuchare (Fishtail), Annapurna South, I and other glorious snow capped peaks. Prior to sunset you may choose to take the short trek up to Poon Hill, celebrated for its stunning sunset views. Tonight we will stay at a lodge at Ghorepani.
Early in the morning, you will hike to Poon Hill (3,210m), one of the most famous viewpoints in the Annapurna region. Poon Hill is renowned for its spectacular sunrise views over the Himalayas. As the first rays of sunlight illuminate the snow-capped peaks, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna II (7,937m), Annapurna III (7,855m), Annapurna IV (7,525m), Annapurna South (7,219m), Nilgiri (6,940m), Tukuche Peak (6,920m), Varaha Shikhar (7,847m), and Lamjung Himal (6,931m).
After spending time taking photographs and enjoying the magnificent scenery, you will return to Ghorepani for breakfast. Following breakfast, the trek continues downhill through beautiful rhododendron forests and traditional mountain villages to Ulleri. Upon reaching Ulleri, you will board a vehicle and drive back to Pokhara. The scenic drive offers views of terraced fields, rural settlements, and lush hillsides before arriving in the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara.
