Young drivers will enjoy the chance to get behind the wheel of a 4×4 in a controlled and friendly environment. After a short introduction and demonstration from an experienced instructor, participants can drive for up to 20 minutes, practising basic off-road techniques. This session is aimed at 13–16-year-olds and requires an adult passenger for each vehicle.
The session starts with a safety briefing and familiarisation with the 4×4 vehicle. The instructor will explain the controls and provide a short demonstration of key off-road driving techniques, ensuring participants feel confident before taking the wheel.
Once comfortable, each young driver will have up to 20 minutes behind the wheel, navigating a safe off-road course. The session encourages practical learning, helping participants understand vehicle handling, steering, braking, and negotiating simple obstacles while building confidence and focus.
The experience finishes with a short review and guidance on what they have learned. Adult passengers can join in the fun by observing and assisting with navigation, making it an engaging activity for both driver and passenger.
The session takes place at our Outdoor Activity Centre on the edge of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. The area offers a mix of gentle trails and open space ideal for safe off-road driving.
