Explore Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park on two wheels with mountain bike hire collected from the Callander shop. Bikes are serviced before each hire, and the fleet is updated regularly so you can ride forest tracks, lochside paths, and National Cycle Route 7 with confidence.
This is a self-guided hire. Collect your bike, helmet, basic tool kit, and pump from the Callander shop, get a quick fit check and route ideas, then roll straight onto National Cycle Route 7. Expect a flexible day with room for lochside stops, forest tracks, and quieter loops at your own pace.
Adult mountain bikes and children's bikes are available, and family extras such as tag-along bars, toddler trailers, and bike trailers can be added so younger riders can stay with the group. Optional panniers, waterproof bags, and phone cases help if you are carrying lunch or spare layers.
There is no delivery for bike hire, so plan to start and finish at the shop. Wear comfortable cycling clothes and closed-toe shoes, and bring a waterproof layer because Scottish weather can change quickly.
The hire shop sits on National Cycle Route 7 beside Callander Meadows Car Park, so you can roll straight onto a scenic, largely traffic-free track. From Callander you can ride through forest and hills toward the shores of Loch Lubnaig, continue to Strathyre, or loop toward Balquhidder for quieter glens and open views.
Callander is the gateway to the Trossachs, with easy access to family-friendly cycle paths and more technical forest trails depending on how far you want to go. Staff can point you to routes that match your group, fitness, and how long you have out on the bikes.
No prior mountain biking experience is required, though riders should be comfortable on a bike and able to look after their own group on public paths and quiet roads. Children's bikes, tag-along bars, toddler trailers, and bike trailers are available so families can ride together at a suitable pace.
Hire is collected from and returned to the Callander shop only. Plan your day around pick-up and drop-off times, bring ID if asked at collection, and ride within your ability on local trails.
You get a well-maintained mountain bike, helmet, basic tool kit, pump, and practical route recommendations tailored to the Trossachs. The team knows the local network and can help you choose a ride that fits a half day or a full day out.
Starting on National Cycle Route 7 means less time negotiating busy roads and more time enjoying lochs, woodland, and classic Scottish scenery at your own pace.
