Looking for a fun group activity that everyone can enjoy together? The Family 4x4 Trek offers 30 minutes of off-road adventure across a private 40-acre woodland site, all driven by a qualified BORDA-trained instructor. With space for up to six passengers, it's a brilliant way to introduce younger family members to the thrill of off-roading—without anyone needing to take the wheel.
The experience kicks off with your family being welcomed into a Land Rover Discovery TD5, where your BORDA-trained driver will take the lead. You’ll be taken around a purpose-built course full of twists, turns, inclines, descents, and woodland tracks—perfect for an exciting, slightly bumpy, and laughter-filled ride.
Children aged 6 and up can ride without an accompanying adult, while younger children must have one adult in the car. For the youngest passengers, you’ll need to bring and fit an appropriate child seat. The route is designed to keep things fun and engaging without being too intense, so it’s suitable for a wide range of ages and comfort levels.
Tucked away in woodland just outside Farnsfield in Nottinghamshire, the off-road site offers a safe and scenic setting for families looking for something a bit different. With 40 acres of trails, humps, and slopes to explore, the course gives passengers a proper taste of off-road driving from the comfort of the passenger seat.
The site is located just off the A617 towards Newark, approximately 200 yards on the left after the A614 roundabout. Sat navs don’t always pinpoint the entrance accurately, so it’s worth following the written directions provided. Clear signage and staff will help guide you in once you’re close.
There are no age restrictions for the experience, though children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. If you're bringing younger children, ensure you have the correct child seat and that it is fitted securely before the trek begins.
All passengers must wear seatbelts throughout the experience. As the vehicle remains closed and the seats are standard, there’s no need for protective gear—just wear something comfortable and weather-suitable.
