Experience the joy of bodyboating, an exciting adventure activity offered by our centre on the scenic River Dee in Llangollen, North Wales. In this half-day adventure, get ready for an unforgettable journey down the river's rapids like never before.
Once you arrive at our centre, we'll brief you on the activity and what to expect. You'll be equipped with everything you need for the adventure ahead, including specialised bodyboats designed for optimal performance on the rapids.
The session primarily focuses on navigating through the thrilling rapids of the River Dee, including iconic spots like Tomb Stones, Ski Slope/Middle Wave, and Factory Falls. Starting in a calm pool, you'll receive comprehensive instruction on basic manoeuvring strokes, ensuring you feel confident and prepared before continuing.
Under the guidance of our experienced instructors, you'll learn how to read the river and anticipate its twists and turns, enhancing your skills and understanding of whitewater dynamics. As you progress, you'll tackle challenging drops and waves, experiencing the adrenaline rush as you navigate the rapids skillfully and precisely.
Our adventures take place on the magnificent Llangollen River Dee, renowned for its gorgeous scenery and exciting rapids.
Nestled amidst the beauty of North Wales, our centre provides the perfect setting for your bodyboating experience.
No prior experience is necessary for this activity. Participants must be aged 8 and above, with a sense of adventure and readiness to embrace the excitement of white water exploration.
Established in 2015, we are a North Wales-based adventure company founded and operated by experienced adventure instructors. Since our inception, we have dedicated ourselves to delivering exhilarating experiences to all who venture our way.
Initially focusing on small paddlesports courses, we have expanded over the years to become one of the largest outdoor centres in the region, offering an extensive range of outdoor and indoor activities. With our wealth of experience and passion for adventure, we are committed to providing safe, enjoyable, and memorable experiences for all our visitors.
This session is run entirely on our site. We own the riverbanks for a 300-metre stretch and can re-paddle rapids if we like.
Occasionally due to high river levels we may run this session elsewhere, you will be informed of everything by your instructor.
You will need to bring Swimwear (we thankfully do not provide this). You will need to bring a pair of trainers or water shoes that fit securely.
No crocs (even the danger strap will not save your boot or dignity!) You will also need to bring a towel, and your sense of adventure.
During cooler months, thermal base layers are recommended for those that are more sensitive to cold
We will supply you with a wetsuit, a white water PFD, webbed gloves and a Bodyboat, of course.
We also provide terrific banter and questionable jokes!
Yes. You will get very wet.
Depending on the time of year it can be cool. We supply you with thick wetsuits, neoprene gloves and socks. It is an active session, so you get warm once you are moving.
Accompanied children from 8 years old are welcome.
No. Our awesome PFDs will keep you afloat if you fall off your boadyboat. We have a small guest to instructor ratio, so you are looked after the entire time.

Non-participating members of a group are welcome to spectate.
