As the River Dee flows towards Llangollen, it narrows and steepens, creating exciting rapids. Kayaking on this section of the river is an exceptional adventure, but usually only experienced kayakers would attempt it. However, with the high-quality equipment and expert staff available, exploring this wild and beautiful river is now possible for everyone.
By the end of the trip, not only will you have paddled through exhilarating rapids, but you'll also have forged unforgettable memories on the water.

Prior white water kayaking experience is not necessary. However, we recommend having basic kayaking skills and a reasonable level of fitness to fully enjoy the experience.

Session times are inclusive of signing in and gearing up and can be expected to begin at your allotted start time. If you arrive early your instructor may still be on the water with their previous group or preparing for your activity.
If you are early and you identify your instructor, please feel free to go over and say hi, as it may be that you can begin to get ready.
Please bring a bathing suit to wear beneath your wetsuit, a towel to dry off afterwards, and something warm to jump right into. You will get WET.
All of our activities require participants to wear closed-toe footwear throughout, so you must bring spare shoes to wear one pair on the river and the other on the way home.
Our kayaks are PVC heavy-duty inflatables. Picture a single-person white water raft. These are fun, stable, spacious and easy to steer.
This style of kayak offers the user all of the light-hearted fun and freedom of being in a raft, with the added satisfaction and control of a kayak.
From the age of 12, young people are very welcome to join our white water trips and may paddle their own kayak.
Between the ages of 8-11, young people may join a white water trip so long as they share a tandem boat with someone who has kayaking experience.
This can be a parent or adult in the group who has experience kayaking or can be one of our river guides, though if there are multiple under-12s needing expert boat guiding, this will come at an extra cost.
