After a day travelling from Kathmandu to Pokhara, the trek runs through Tikhedhunga and Ghorepani to Poon Hill, then loops back down through Tadapani and Ghandruk to Nayapul and Pokhara before the return drive to Kathmandu.
Hotel nights in Kathmandu and Pokhara are on a three-star or better basis with private bathrooms, while guesthouses on the trail offer simple twin rooms and a heated common area for the evenings, with hot showers usually available for a small charge. Blankets are provided throughout, though many trekkers still bring a lightweight sleeping bag liner for extra comfort on the higher, cooler nights.
A manageable daily pace and a well-established trail with frequent guesthouses make this route an accessible introduction to Himalayan trekking. Guides are experienced at pacing mixed-ability groups, including families and first-time trekkers.
Transport, permits and guesthouses are all confirmed ahead of departure, so the trip runs smoothly from the moment guests land in Kathmandu.

Poon Hill sits above Ghorepani at 3,210 metres and is one of the most accessible viewpoints in Nepal for a genuine wide-angle Himalayan panorama, taking in Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Annapurna III, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna and Machhapuchhre from a single spot reachable on a morning walk. The villages either side of it, including Ghorepani and Ghandruk, are home to Magar and Gurung communities and sit within rhododendron forest that turns a deep red and pink through the spring.
Pokhara, the base for the trek, is a relaxed lakeside town with the Annapurna range visible across Phewa Lake, offering an easy contrast to the fast pace of Kathmandu. The trip begins there with an airport pickup on arrival, before the overland drive to Pokhara and on to the trailhead at Nayapul.
Hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara are comfortable three-star or better properties with private bathrooms, bookending the trekking days with a proper rest. Guesthouses on the trail offer simple twin rooms with shared facilities and a heated common area for the evenings.
Blankets are provided at every guesthouse, though many trekkers still bring a lightweight sleeping bag liner for extra comfort on the higher, cooler nights around Ghorepani. Hot showers are usually available at trail guesthouses for a small extra charge.
