Sail along Costa Rica’s Pacific coastline on a four-hour morning catamaran cruise departing from Flamingo Marina. This shared experience combines snorkelling, kayaking and paddleboarding with food and drinks served onboard. Designed for relaxed exploration of the coast, it offers calm morning conditions and opportunities to spot marine wildlife.
The tour begins at Flamingo Marina on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. Guests either arrive at the marina or are collected from their accommodation in nearby areas before boarding the catamaran. After a short safety briefing, the boat heads along the coastline where volcanic cliffs, tropical forests and small coves define the landscape.
The first stop is a snorkelling site selected by the crew based on sea conditions. Snorkelling equipment is provided and the crew supervise the activity while guests explore reef areas and marine life typical of Costa Rica’s Pacific waters. Conditions are generally calmer in the morning, making this a suitable time for snorkelling.
After the snorkelling stop, the catamaran anchors in a sheltered area where additional water activities are available. Guests can use kayaks and paddleboards, swim from the boat or relax on deck. Food and drinks are served throughout the cruise, including wraps, fresh fruit and snacks prepared by the onboard chef. On the return journey there is time to watch the coastline and keep an eye out for dolphins or other marine wildlife before arriving back at Flamingo Marina.
Flamingo Marina is located on Costa Rica’s north Pacific coast in the Guanacaste region. The marina serves as a departure point for sailing trips along the Gold Coast, known for its beaches, rocky headlands and clear seasonal waters.
The surrounding coastline includes areas such as Tamarindo, Conchal and Las Catalinas, all within short driving distance of the marina. Offshore waters support a variety of marine life including tropical fish and dolphins, which are sometimes spotted during coastal cruises.
No previous sailing or snorkelling experience is required. Guests should be comfortable entering the water from a boat and swimming in open water if they choose to snorkel or participate in kayaking or paddleboarding.
Boarding involves stepping from the dock onto the catamaran and moving around a marine environment. The vessel is not wheelchair or stroller accessible. Infants must sit on an adult’s lap and infant seats are unavailable. The tour is not recommended for travellers with back problems, heart conditions or for those who are pregnant.
Operating across multiple destinations and having welcomed tens of thousands of travellers, this team focuses on structured coastal sailing experiences led by experienced crews. Each trip balances water activities with time to relax onboard.
Transport coordination and logistics are handled ahead of departure, with confirmation provided the day before travel. The goal is to provide a straightforward half-day adventure combining sailing, snorkelling and coastal exploration in one itinerary.
