Try something a bit different with a two-hour session of archery, axe throwing, and knife throwing in the open fields just outside Pembroke. Whether you’re booking solo or organising a private group session, this is a chance to challenge your aim under the guidance of experienced instructors.
You’ll start by meeting your instructor at the entrance to the field, directly opposite Bush House in Pembroke. After a short walk through the field, you’ll arrive at the sheltered range with views towards Pembroke Castle. The setup includes a covered shooting and viewing area, so sessions can go ahead comfortably in most weather conditions.
The session is split between archery, axe throwing, and knife throwing. Each activity is introduced with a safety briefing and demonstration, followed by plenty of time to practice. Instructors are on hand throughout to offer tips, correct your technique, and keep things running smoothly. The layout means up to three people can shoot at once, with others able to watch and relax under cover. This makes it a great mix of action and downtime, and an easygoing option for families, couples, and small groups of friends.
Sessions run with a maximum of ten individual places, or you can book the full range for your own private group. If you do block-book, you can bring as many people as you like—just keep in mind that only three can be on the line at once, and there’s seating for twelve. Dogs are welcome with exclusive bookings but must be kept on a lead, and if you’re joining as an individual and hoping to bring a dog, please check ahead.
Set just a short walk from the town centre, the range sits in a quiet field with views back towards Pembroke Castle. It’s easy to reach by car, bus, or even on foot if you're staying locally.
Parking is available on hardstanding, and when the field is dry, extra parking may be available further in. Please avoid blocking the road or pavement, as access is needed for large vehicles.
Everyone attending must complete a participation form before the session begins. You’ll be shooting under cover, but please come dressed for the weather and wear suitable shoes or boots for walking through a field.
If you have any personal medication, such as an inhaler or EpiPen, please bring it with you. Our team will be on hand to assist, but it’s important you’re fully prepared for a couple of hours outdoors.
The centre is run by instructors who specialise in making activities like archery and axe throwing feel accessible and enjoyable for all experience levels. Sessions are designed to be relaxed, fun, and safe, with a real focus on helping people learn and enjoy themselves at their own pace.
The location offers the feel of being away from it all without needing to travel far. With the range just a few minutes from central Pembroke, it’s an ideal activity to combine with exploring the town or visiting the nearby castle.
We recommend this session for participants aged 12 and over. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult, whether they’re taking part or simply supervising from the viewing area.
While we can occasionally accommodate younger participants, it depends on their strength, coordination, and willingness to follow safety instructions. If you're unsure whether it’s suitable, feel free to get in touch before booking.
Dogs are welcome if you’re booking an exclusive group session. They’ll need to stay on a lead at all times and must not disrupt the activities or other participants.
If you’re joining a mixed individual session, we ask that you contact us beforehand to check whether dogs can be accommodated. In some cases, they may affect the experience for others, so it's handled case-by-case.
Please wear clothing suited to the day’s weather—while the range itself is undercover, you will need to walk through an open field to get there. Footwear should be sturdy and capable of handling uneven, possibly muddy ground.
You should also bring any personal medication you might require during the session, such as inhalers or allergy treatments. We do not provide spare clothing or footwear, so come prepared for outdoor conditions.
Absolutely. Each part of the session begins with a clear safety briefing and a demonstration from your instructor. You'll be shown exactly how to handle each piece of equipment before having a go yourself.
All sessions are fully supervised, and instructors will guide you through proper technique and safe movement throughout. You don't need any previous experience to take part.
The shooting and waiting areas are fully covered, so the session can run in most weather conditions. Rain generally won't stop play, though high winds or extreme conditions may require us to postpone for safety.
We will contact you as soon as possible if the weather is unsuitable, and you’ll be offered an alternative date or credit to use later. If you're unsure, feel free to get in touch to confirm before setting off.
You’ll meet your instructor at the gate to the field, directly opposite Bush House in Pembroke. It’s important not to enter the field unless asked to do so, as other shooting activities may be in progress.
There is limited parking on the sloped drive outside the gate, and in dry weather, parking may be possible in the field itself. Please park responsibly and ensure access is left clear for larger vehicles.
