As you paddle along the quiet stretch of river, the instructor offers support and tips, helping you feel confident while exploring islands, bridges, and riverside wildlife. The lesson encourages learning in a relaxed, supportive environment, giving you time to practise skills without pressure.
Lessons start from a private pontoon on the River Thames in West Molesey, Surrey. This calm, non-tidal stretch of river is perfect for beginners, with minimal current and scenic surroundings including islands, bridges, and local wildlife.
The area is shared with other river users, so paddlers are guided to keep to the right-hand side and respect riverside properties. Its accessible location also means nearby parking, bike storage, lockers, and restrooms are available, making it easy to plan your session.
Participants must be aged 11 or above and accompanied by an adult if under 18. No prior paddleboarding experience is necessary. It is recommended to wear layered, quick-drying clothing suitable for the weather and bring a change of clothes, as cotton or denim can become heavy when wet.
All sessions include full safety equipment, including a paddleboard, paddle, buoyancy aid, leash, waterproof phone case, and straps for glasses. Guidance from the instructor ensures everyone learns safely and enjoys the process.
The lesson is led by a qualified, local instructor with extensive experience on the River Thames. Their focus on personal attention within a small group ensures everyone gains skills and confidence in a safe environment.

We had a fantastic morning on the river, the sun was shining and Andy was very helpful in his advice of where we could get to in the time we’d booked. All equipment and facilities great too, very handy to have lockers to leave some bags behind. Would definitely recommend!
