This 3-Week Intensive Surf Instructor Course in Pembrokeshire, Wales, is an ideal opportunity for those aspiring to combine their passion for surfing and paddle boarding with a fulfilling career. During the intensive Surf & SUP Instructor Course, your days will be dynamic and varied. You'll be engaged in planning and preparing various activities, actively participating in, explaining, and demonstrating key skills in surfing or SUP. A significant part of your training will involve shadowing experienced coaches, providing an opportunity to instruct in specialist areas and gain hands-on experience. You'll work towards completing the required assisting hours for various qualifications, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
A key aspect of the program is ensuring the safety and readiness of all equipment and facilities, which involves regular checks and maintenance. You'll also be responsible for explaining and implementing safety procedures, conducting risk assessments, and completing necessary documentation like logbooks and theoretical work. Part of your role includes maintaining the cleanliness and order of the training center and managing the equipment used.
An integral part of the course is the camaraderie and team spirit that develops, highlighted by pre-class swims and post-work surf sessions. These activities not only reinforce the skills learned but also foster a strong sense of community among participants. Additionally, you'll have the unique opportunity to explore Pembrokeshire's stunning natural landscapes, including its beautiful beaches, coves, estuaries, and gullies, further enriching your training experience.

With a quarter-century of expertise in surf, SUP, and lifesaving training for all skill levels, Dean is also committed to collaborating with Disability Sport Wales, community groups, schools, the National Trust, Pembrokeshire County Council, and international organisations.

Yes we are. We have £10 million public liability insurance and all instructors & surf crew are fully qualified & members of the NGB.

Most qualifications need to be renewed 12 – 24 months from assessment date. Please ask if you want more clarification on a specific award.
As part of your course, you will be trained in multiple locations around South Pembrokeshire, both on land, on the beach and in the water. We have activity bases in Pembroke, Freshwater West, Saundersfoot, Tenby and Stackpole Quay.
Most training will be held at our Activity Centre on Gupton Farm, Castlemartin, SA71 5HW.
Accommodation is included, which will be a team house for everyone on the course.
Food is not included but facilities within the accommodation will cater towards cooking etc, and the venues that we operate from have nearby cafes. Our venues also have some basic facilities like kettles and microwave. You can always bring a packed lunch to the day sessions, too.

Our booking was at midday for 2 hours, but we didn’t get the stuff until 12:15 when the lady came back with the surf school. We were then told to bring the stuff back before 2 pm or she wouldn’t be there (we needed to get our deposit back). This…
Got some surfboards and wetsuits for a couple of hours. They were dropped off at the right place right time, he was very helpful and knowledgeable, gave us a little info about the beach because we hadn't surfed there before. Will definitely be using again and recommending
