Across three days of training, this course builds a complete foundation in first aid for workplace environments. Participants learn to manage both minor incidents and major emergencies, with time devoted to hands-on practice and scenario-based learning. By the end, learners are prepared to take on the role of workplace first aider with confidence.
Day one introduces the role of a first aider, risk assessment, and the principles of managing incidents safely. Participants then progress to CPR practice and the correct use of an AED. Core skills such as managing choking, treating wounds, and handling shock are also introduced.
On the second day, attention shifts to injuries including fractures, dislocations, head injuries, and burns. Learners explore how to prioritise care in multiple casualty situations and practise safe methods of supporting injured colleagues until professional help arrives. Practical exercises are structured to ensure every participant is fully engaged.
The final day focuses on medical conditions that may occur in the workplace, including allergic reactions, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, and heart conditions. Sessions combine classroom knowledge with practical roleplay, ensuring learners leave prepared to manage a wide range of emergencies. Assessment takes place throughout the course, with successful completion leading to official certification.
