Starting with a scenic drive from Marrakech, you’ll pass through charming villages and spectacular landscapes before reaching the beautiful Imlil. This trek offers a unique opportunity to experience Berber culture first-hand while trekking through the dramatic mountains and staying in a traditional village.
Day 1
After being picked up from your hotel in Marrakech, you’ll drive through the scenic routes of Tahnnaout, Oued Ghighaya, and Asni, offering you glimpses of local villages nestled in the valley. Upon arrival in Imlil, you’ll meet your trekking crew and enjoy a refreshing mint tea. Begin your trek towards Azzaden Valley via the Tizi Mzik pass, where you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the valley and the neighbouring Atlas peaks. After a packed lunch at the top, descend through the Juniper Forest, eventually reaching Tizi Oussem village where you’ll spend the night. Enjoy an authentic Berber tagine dinner while learning about the local culture.
Day 2
Start your second day with a hearty breakfast and soak up the morning sunshine before heading out to Id Issa village. After exploring the village, continue your trek towards the Tizi Oudid mountain pass, passing through Matat village along the way. Pause for a delicious lunch by the walnut grove next to the river before continuing your journey. By the late afternoon, you’ll return to Marrakech, arriving around 5pm.

During the trek, you will spend the night in a traditional Berber village in the High Atlas Mountains. The accommodation offers a rustic and authentic experience, where you can rest comfortably after a day of trekking.
You'll enjoy a warm, welcoming environment, with a delicious traditional tagine dinner and the opportunity to engage with the local Berber community.
While the trek is accessible to those with moderate fitness levels, participants should be comfortable with walking for 5-6 hours each day. Some uphill climbs may be challenging, so a basic level of fitness and stamina is beneficial.
Previous trekking experience is not required, but it’s helpful to have a sense of adventure.
