📋 Key Details

• Location: Sosúa Beach, Puerto Plata
• Group Type: Private experience
• Difficulty: Easy
• Departure Area: Amber Cove or Taino Bay cruise ports

🌊 What to Expect

The evening begins with pickup from your hotel or cruise port before travelling to Sosúa Beach, where the catamaran is waiting. Boarding takes place directly from the beach with assistance from the crew before the boat sails out into Sosúa Bay. As the coastline comes into view, guests can settle into the seating areas, enjoy the sea breeze, and start the evening with drinks from the open bar.

While the catamaran cruises along the Puerto Plata coastline, the crew prepares a freshly grilled BBQ dinner on board. Guests are served a light meal along with fruit while relaxing on deck and listening to music played through the onboard sound system. With the sky gradually changing colour, many guests move to the front of the boat or open deck areas to take photos and enjoy the views.

As the sun lowers over the horizon, the atmosphere on board becomes even more relaxed. Guests can continue enjoying drinks, music, and the warm evening air before the catamaran slowly returns to Sosúa Beach. Once back on shore, transfers are arranged back to the cruise port or hotel to complete the evening.

📍 Location

Sosúa Beach lies along the northern coast of the Dominican Republic and is known for its calm bay and clear water. The sheltered setting makes it a popular departure point for catamaran cruises exploring the nearby coastline.

Guests typically join the trip via transfers from Amber Cove or Taino Bay cruise terminals. These ports are the main arrival points for cruise ships visiting Puerto Plata and provide straightforward access to the Sosúa departure area.

✅ Prerequisites

Participants should be comfortable around water and able to climb a ladder when boarding the catamaran from the beach. Crew members assist during boarding and disembarking to help guests get on and off the boat safely.

The cruise is designed as a relaxed evening activity suitable for most travellers. However, it may not be suitable for pregnant guests or travellers with limited mobility due to the beach boarding process.

⭐ Why Choose Us

A private sunset cruise allows your group to enjoy the Puerto Plata coastline in a more personal setting compared with larger shared boat trips. With the catamaran reserved just for your group, you can relax, enjoy the music and food, and take in the sunset without distractions.

The experience is also designed to work well for cruise visitors. With transfers from the port and a schedule planned around ship arrival times, the evening runs smoothly from pickup through to your return.
