Peak Performance Breathwork is a specialised training program designed to enhance athletic capabilities through advanced breathing techniques. It focuses on improving oxygen utilization, increasing VO2 max, enhancing CO2 tolerance, delaying lactic acid onset, and expanding lung capacity.
This program is ideal for athletes and sports enthusiasts, especially those involved in endurance and adventure sports like freediving, who seek to elevate their physical and mental performance.
Participants should be actively engaged in sports and have a basic level of fitness. There are no specific age or skill level requirements, but a commitment to improving performance is crucial.
The training incorporates controlled intermittent hypoxic training (CIHT) and hypercapnic training, techniques that are proven to improve athletic performance by enhancing the body's response to reduced oxygen levels and increased carbon dioxide.
By the end of the course, you can expect improved endurance, higher tolerance to CO2, better oxygenation efficiency, increased lung capacity, and overall enhanced performance in your sport.
Progress is assessed through initial and ongoing evaluations using the BOLT (Body Oxygen Level Test) Score, which measures breath-holding time as an indicator of breathing efficiency and capacity.
The BOLT (Body Oxygen Level Test) score is a simple breath-holding test used to assess your current breathing efficiency. It helps determine the starting point for your personalised breathwork plan.
