This 2–3 day course builds on your existing diving foundation and develops the skills needed to explore deeper and more challenging environments. Through a combination of e-learning, practical workshops, and five adventure dives, you’ll gain the experience required to dive confidently to depths of up to 30 metres. The programme allows you to broaden your abilities while choosing areas of special interest.
Course duration: 2–3 days
Session duration: 2–3 hours
Daily start times: 9:00, 12:00, 15:00
Number of dives: 5
Dive types: Navigation, deep dive, plus 3 additional adventure dives
Minimum age: 12 years
Depth limit: Up to 30 metres depending on age
Location options: Dubai and Fujairah
Entry type: Confined water and open water
Training begins with PADI e-learning, which covers planning advanced dives, using your dive computer effectively, navigation principles, and the safety considerations of deeper environments. You’ll complete the first sections at home before starting your in-water sessions. This preparation ensures you arrive with a solid understanding of how advanced dives differ from entry-level training.
Your practical sessions include a combination of Dubai and Fujairah sites. The deep dive introduces you to controlled descents, gas management, and the physiological effects of depth, while the navigation dive focuses on compass accuracy, kick-cycle measurement, and maintaining headings using natural references. The remaining three adventure dives allow you to choose areas that interest you most—options commonly include peak performance buoyancy, search and recovery, wreck diving, or night diving depending on availability.
Each dive is instructor-led with clear objectives and structured feedback. The course is designed to expand your confidence gradually, with skills reinforced through repetition and applied in realistic scenarios. Upon completion of all five adventure dives and e-learning components, you will earn the PADI Advanced Open Water certification, allowing you to dive to greater depths and access a wider variety of sites worldwide.
Sessions take place across Dubai and Fujairah, providing exposure to different underwater environments. Dubai offers convenient access and controlled entry points suitable for navigation practice and skills refinement. These sites provide a stable environment for compass work, buoyancy adjustments, and reviewing dive plans before moving into deeper conditions.
Fujairah provides excellent depth profiles and varied topography for deep and speciality dives. Its reefs and rock formations offer clearer structure for practising advanced navigation and observing the effects of depth in a controlled manner. Conditions are selected daily to ensure suitability for each planned adventure dive.
You must hold a valid Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or an equivalent qualification from a recognised agency). A medical questionnaire is required, and some participants may need doctor clearance before beginning advanced dives.
Basic comfort in the water and familiarity with foundational scuba skills are expected. Completing the first two chapters of the e-learning course before starting your dives is essential, as these sections contain the theoretical basis for deep diving and navigation.
With years of experience training divers at all levels, this centre provides a supportive environment where students can expand their skills with confidence. Instructors take a structured approach, explaining the reasoning behind each skill and giving clear feedback throughout the course.
The team’s emphasis on responsibility and professionalism ensures consistent safety standards, while the friendly, community-oriented atmosphere helps divers feel part of a wider group. Exposure to both Dubai and Fujairah sites gives you a varied and well-rounded learning experience, preparing you for more demanding dive locations worldwide.
The course includes two compulsory dives—deep diving and underwater navigation. These ensure you understand depth management and can navigate accurately using a compass and natural references.
The remaining three dives are elective, allowing you to choose areas that align with your interests or future diving goals.
Popular options include peak performance buoyancy, search and recovery, night diving, and wreck diving. Availability may depend on conditions and location.
Your instructor will explain each option, discuss what you’ll learn, and help you decide which dives are most suitable for your progression.
The deep dive is planned in detail, including gas management, descent rate, time at depth, and ascent procedures. Instructors monitor depth closely and check for comfort throughout the dive.
You will learn how pressure affects colour, buoyancy, and breathing, giving you practical understanding of deeper conditions.
You’ll practice compass use, kick-cycle measurement, and how to maintain direction using visual landmarks. These skills help you navigate accurately in both clear and low-visibility conditions.
The session includes exercises for maintaining straight lines, returning to your starting point, and combining natural and instrument-based navigation.
No. While many divers prefer a continuous schedule, you can spread your sessions over a longer period as long as they are completed within six months of the first dive.
This flexibility is ideal for divers with limited availability or those who prefer a more gradual learning pace.
Certification is based on completing the required e-learning sections and performing all skills to a safe and competent standard during the five adventure dives.
There is no formal written exam, but your instructor will review theory topics during briefings to ensure full understanding.
The course requires moderate fitness, as some dives involve swimming against mild current or navigating over greater distances. Deep dives can also require more controlled breathing.
Your instructor adapts the pace, and dives are only conducted when conditions are suitable for learning.
Yes. Dive computers play an important role in managing depth, ascent rates, and no-decompression limits. You’ll review how to interpret key information during both navigation and deeper dives.
Understanding computer data prepares you for more independent diving after certification.
Once certified, you can dive to 30 metres with a buddy and access a wider range of sites worldwide. Many wrecks, reefs, and deeper topographies are only suitable for divers with advanced qualifications.
This course also forms the foundation for future speciality courses like deep diving, search and recovery, or wreck diving.
It’s normal for divers to feel some apprehension before their first deeper dive. Instructors provide thorough preparation, explain every step of the dive plan, and monitor your comfort throughout.
The descent is controlled and gradual, with opportunities to pause and adjust buoyancy as needed. Most divers find the experience easier than expected once underway.
