The activity is based in County Sligo, along the Wild Atlantic Way, a region known for its diverse and accessible waterways. The area offers a mix of calm bays, sheltered inlets, and coastal views, making it ideal for group paddleboarding activities. The exact meeting point varies depending on conditions and group size but is always convenient and accessible with parking nearby.
This region’s natural features provide both sheltered waters for safer paddling and open views for a pleasant outdoor experience. Being part of the Wild Atlantic Way also means the location is rich in natural beauty and wildlife, often allowing participants to spot seabirds or marine life during their session. The organisers monitor local water and weather conditions carefully to choose the safest and most suitable spot for each group.
Participants must be at least 10 years old and have a basic level of swimming ability. Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.
A reasonable level of fitness is needed to paddle for up to two hours and to carry the equipment over a short distance (up to 200m). Everyone must wear a buoyancy aid throughout the session, and alcohol or drug use before or during the activity is not permitted.
The team running the experience is ASI accredited, ensuring that all instructors meet recognised professional standards in paddleboarding safety and teaching. The instructors bring years of water sport experience and detailed knowledge of local conditions, enabling them to tailor sessions to individual and group needs while prioritising safety.
The operation is dedicated to providing enjoyable, inclusive, and well-organised paddleboarding experiences for all ages and abilities. Their approachable style and patient instruction make paddleboarding accessible to beginners, while games and challenges add fun and engagement for more experienced paddlers. This combination of professionalism and friendliness consistently earns positive feedback from participants who value both the quality of instruction and the relaxed, supportive atmosphere.

It’s designed for groups such as families, friends, or corporate teams who want to enjoy a unique water activity together. The large size of the board creates a fun challenge in balancing and coordinating paddling efforts.
This activity lasts around two hours and includes games and challenges to keep participants entertained. Whether you prefer to work as a team or embrace the unpredictability, it’s a lively way to enjoy paddleboarding in County Sligo’s scenic waterways.
Yes, the Monster SUP Experience is suitable for all skill levels, including complete beginners. Before heading out on the water, participants receive a full safety briefing and instruction on paddling techniques. This ensures everyone feels confident and knows how to handle the large board safely.
The guided session is led by experienced instructors who tailor the pace and challenges to the group’s abilities. The focus is on fun and teamwork, so even those new to paddleboarding can enjoy the experience without pressure.
Participants are advised to wear swimwear underneath their wetsuits, which are provided as part of the session. Wetsuits help keep you warm and comfortable while on the water, especially in cooler weather. It’s also recommended to bring a towel, dry clothes for after the session, and a water bottle.
On sunny days, sunscreen and a hat are useful to protect from sun exposure. If the weather is colder, wearing warm layers underneath the wetsuit is advisable. Comfortable footwear for arriving and leaving the site is also recommended.
The minimum age to join the session is 10 years old. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the activity. This makes the experience family-friendly while ensuring safety and supervision for younger participants.
There is no upper age limit, provided participants have a reasonable level of fitness and can swim. The activity encourages inclusivity for all ages and abilities.
A basic level of fitness is required since paddling on the Monster SUP can be physically demanding over two hours. Participants should be able to carry the equipment a short distance, usually up to 200 metres, from the meeting point to the water.
However, the guided nature of the session allows instructors to adapt the intensity to suit the group. Paddlers can take breaks as needed, and teamwork helps reduce individual effort, making it accessible for most people with average fitness.
The session takes place outdoors, so weather conditions can affect the experience. In cases of severe weather, such as storms or strong winds, the session may be postponed or rescheduled for safety reasons. The organisers will keep participants informed in advance if changes are necessary.
Mild or moderate weather conditions usually do not prevent the session from going ahead, as wetsuits provide protection against cold and wet environments. Participants should dress appropriately and prepare for changing weather.
Yes, this activity is ideal for corporate groups and team-building events. The large board encourages cooperation, communication, and teamwork as participants work together to stay balanced and move efficiently.
The session includes games and challenges that foster group bonding and problem-solving in a relaxed outdoor setting. It’s a memorable way to encourage team spirit while enjoying time on the water.
