Explore the unique Bay Fangar on a guided kayak tour, navigating among mussel rafts and observing abundant wildlife. Life jackets, oars, kayak hire, and a knowledgeable guide are included, making this tour both safe and informative. The journey lasts 3–3.5 hours and is suitable for children aged 10 and above.
The tour starts at Illa de Mar Port, where participants receive their kayaks and safety briefing. Paddlers navigate the calm waters of Bay Fangar, exploring the mussel rafts that have been cultivated since the 18th century. The unique combination of freshwater from the canals and nutrient-rich seawater creates ideal conditions for the shellfish.
Along the route, participants can admire the small operational lighthouse known locally as “Faroleta,” which warns ships of the bay’s tip. Guides provide insights into the mussel farming process, highlighting the ecological and economic importance of this traditional practice.

Paddlers can take breaks to enjoy a swim in the bay, observe wildlife from the kayak, and appreciate the natural and historical surroundings before returning to the starting point. Single, double, and triple kayaks are available to suit different group sizes, and optional waterproof containers can be rented to store personal items.
