Open Water card in hand? Advance your skills over two days from Sharm El Sheikh, with hotel collection each morning and instructor-led adventure dives on Red Sea reefs, drop-offs and, sea state allowing, wreck ground.
Sinai's coral walls and drop-offs become your training ground across two mornings on the water. Your instructor leads adventure dives where deeper buoyancy, navigation and awareness are practised on real reef routes rather than in a pool.
Surface intervals happen on deck between dives, with time to debrief what you felt underwater before the next descent. Day two may take you to wreck ground or steeper walls if the sea allows, building on what you covered the first morning.
Sharm El Sheikh sits on the southern tip of Sinai, with reefs, drop-offs and wrecks a short run from the hotel strip. Training uses that Red Sea ground rather than a pool week inland. You leave the resort belt for sites chosen on the morning, then return to the same hotel after each day's dives.
Collection usually covers Naama Bay, Sharks Bay and neighbouring hotels. Distances along the strip mean pickup windows can stretch, so be ready early and eat before you leave reception. Once you are back on the coast, hotel beaches sit close to most properties, which is why many guests keep the evenings quiet after two full days in the sun and on the water.
You should already hold Open Water or an equivalent entry-level scuba qualification and bring the card. You need to be happy on a boat for two full days and in the sea beside it. Say if you have not dived for a long time so the instructor can pace the first adventure dive. If your card is from another agency, say so when you confirm your place so the instructor can check it is accepted.
Wear swimwear under a cover-up, bring a towel and sun protection, and eat breakfast before pickup. Keep both days free. This is not a course for people who have never used a regulator. Mention ages when you confirm your place; do not assume a child who has just finished an entry-level course is automatically ready for the deeper adventure dives on this course.
Hotel collection and a two-day Advanced Open Water format keep the course simple from a Sharm El Sheikh hotel. Instructors stay with you on the adventure dives rather than sending you out on a recreational boat without teaching time. Scuba kit for the water sessions is issued by the crew, and you can ask when you confirm your place what is on the boat.
Skills such as deeper diving and navigation are worked into the sites rather than a classroom-only block. If the outer reefs are too rough, the instructor may keep you on closer sites, shift the order of the adventure dives, or hold a session once morning conditions are clear.
We'll collect you from your Sharm El Sheikh hotel. Be ready in the pickup window with your qualification card, swim kit and a towel. On the boat or at the centre you hear the first briefing: how the two days will run, what the first adventure dive is for, and how the instructor wants you to signal in the water.
The first adventure dives go in with the instructor. Expect coral and, if the sea allows, a look at drop-off ground. Skills such as buoyancy and awareness at a greater depth than Open Water sit inside the dive rather than as a separate pool session. Stay with the group and watch your air.
Day two continues the adventure-dive set, which may include navigation and, sea state allowing, wreck or drop-off sites off the Sharm coast. After the last dive you transfer back to your hotel. Keep the afternoon loosely free in case a weather hold has pushed a session later.
Yes. This is the Advanced Open Water course, so you should already hold Open Water or an equivalent entry-level scuba qualification and bring the card with you. It is not a first-time course and it is not a try-dive day.
If you have never dived, use the Open Water listing for this hub instead. If your card is from another agency, say so when you confirm your place so the instructor can check it is accepted.
Yes. Collection from hotels in the Sharm El Sheikh area is part of this course. Give your hotel name when you book so the driver can find the right gate, and be ready in the window you are given because traffic along the strip can slow the van.
The two days start at pickup, not when you reach the first reef. Arriving late at reception cuts into time in the water, so treat the morning window as the start of training.
The course lasts two days. That usually means briefings and adventure dives spread across two mornings and afternoons, with hotel collection each day, rather than a single long boat outing.
Keep both days free. Do not plan a second trip on the same dates. Exact dive times depend on sea state and how the group is going, so follow the window you are given rather than arriving on your own clock.
Advanced Open Water is built around adventure dives. Expect coral gardens, drop-offs and wrecks in the Sharm El Sheikh Red Sea, with skills such as deeper diving and navigation worked into those sites.
Exact sites change with the sea and with what the instructor wants you to practise. Treat wrecks and drop-offs as the kind of ground you may use, not a fixed two-day script of named wrecks you must hit.
On a course of this type the instructor usually issues tanks, weights and the scuba unit for the water sessions. Bring your own mask if you prefer the fit, and say if you have a computer you want to use.
Ask when you confirm your place what is issued on the boat so you are not guessing about wetsuit thickness or whether you need to hire extras.
The instructor will confirm who can join once they have seen ages and the existing qualification card. Standard Advanced Open Water entry is older than a first Open Water course.
Mention ages when you confirm your place. Do not assume a child who has just finished Open Water is automatically ready for the deeper adventure dives on this course.
Lunch is included during the course and served on board, giving you time to relax and recharge between dives. Refreshments are also provided during the day.
Use the surface intervals to rest, enjoy your meal, and prepare for the next dive with your instructor.
Open Water is the first scuba qualification. This is the next course: you already dive, and the two days add adventure dives and skills such as deeper water and navigation. The from-price and the length are different from the Open Water product in Sharm El Sheikh.
Choose this trip if you already hold the entry-level card. Use the Open Water listing if you still need that first qualification. They are not two lengths of the same form.
Bring your existing qualification card, swimwear, a towel, dry clothes, sunscreen and a logbook if you have one. A rash vest or t-shirt helps on the boat deck between dives. Soft shoes that can get wet help on the swim ladder.
Leave valuables in the hotel safe. A dry bag keeps the card and phone off wet decks. Eat breakfast before the van arrives, and keep both full days free.
The course needs a workable sea. If the outer reefs are too rough, the instructor may keep you on closer sites, shift the order of the adventure dives, or hold a session. You will be told as early as they can once morning conditions are clear.
Have a loose plan around the two days so a weather hold does not wreck the whole course. Two days on the water still needs clear windows, even in Sharm El Sheikh.
