The coloured harbour front and Goskar Rock show from a paddleboard off Tenby North Beach. A short brief on the sand covers balance, turning and how to fall, then the group paddles a line set to the day's wind and tide. A board, paddle, buoyancy aid and wetsuit are included.
Shallows on the sand are the first minutes, then the group leaves the beach together. The guide picks a line that suits the least confident paddler. On a calm day you can look into small caves. If it is windy, the paddle stays closer to the harbour wall.
Come down 15 minutes early. The start moves with high tide, and we confirm the time the day before. Anyone under 18 needs an adult on the water. Shoes that can get wet are useful for the walk down.
Park at North Beach Car Park, SA70 8AG, then walk to the seafront railings, cross, and come down to the sand. The meeting point is on the left, just below the red cafe with umbrellas.
The paddle stays in the bay unless the swell is kind. Parking fills early in summer, so leave extra time.
Happy on the water is enough. No paddleboarding experience is needed. Children from 8 can join. Anyone under 18 needs an adult with them.
Swimwear, a towel, a warm dry layer and shoes you are happy to get wet. Tell us any medical notes that affect time on the sea.
Launch from the sand, so you are not carrying a board through town. Guides hold ISA paddleboard awards and work as beach lifeguards. Sessions are AALA licensed.
The brief stays short, then most of the two hours is on the water. Kit is fitted on the beach, and the guide stays with the group the whole way.
Park at North Beach Car Park, SA70 8AG. Walk towards town until you reach the seafront railings on your left, cross the road and follow the walkway down to the sand.
We are on the left of the sand, just below the red cafe with umbrellas. Give yourself 15 minutes before the start. Tenby roads and car parks get busy, so leave extra time.
About two hours from the sand and back, including a short brief and time on the water. Most of that window is spent paddling rather than standing on the beach talking.
Give yourself 15 minutes so changing does not eat into the paddle. The start sits around high tide, and we confirm the time the day before.
Tenby North Beach. Park at North Beach Car Park, SA70 8AG, then walk to the seafront railings, cross, and come down to the sand. We meet on the left, just below the red cafe with umbrellas.
Tenby roads and car parks get busy in summer, so leave extra time. If the start has to move with the tide, we send the new time rather than a new beach.
A paddleboard, a paddle, a buoyancy aid and a wetsuit, fitted on the sand. We match the board to your size and how the bay is working that day.
Leave phones and bags in the car. If you need medication on the water, give it to the guide at the start.
No. First-timers are welcome. You should be happy on the water and able to kneel or stand with a buoyancy aid on. The guide shows you how to paddle and turn before you leave the shallows.
If you already stand comfortably, say so at the brief. The route can take in more of the cliffs when the swell allows.
Eight. Anyone under 18 needs an adult with them on the water. Children should be happy standing or kneeling on a board and getting wet.
Tell us ages so we can put the right boards out. The pace stays with the least confident person, so a mixed family still works, just at a calmer speed.
Wind in the bay decides more than rain. We move time or hold the start when this stretch is unsafe, or if we cannot run a useful paddle from North Beach.
Check your messages the evening before if you are travelling a long way, so you have the confirmed start before you leave.
Swimwear, a towel, a warm dry layer, sunscreen and shoes you are happy to get wet. A water bottle helps. Get changed into swimwear before you arrive if you want to skip the queue.
Flip-flops are fine for the walk down. Leave valuables in the car. Pack a bag for wet swimwear afterwards.
Happy in the sea is the bar. You paddle in a buoyancy aid, but you can still fall in. A guide stays with the group.
If you are very nervous, say so in advance. The first minutes stay in the shallows until you are steady on the board.
Goskar Rock sits off the beach, and the coloured harbour front shows from the water. On a calm day the route can look into small caves and along the cliffs.
The exact line follows wind, swell and tide. We confirm the plan the day before so you know whether it is a short harbour paddle or a longer stretch along the coast.
Yes, as long as everyone is eight or over and happy on the water. The pace stays with the least confident person, so mixed ages still work on the same tour.
An adult needs to stay with anyone under 18. Tell us numbers and ages so we can put the right boards out on the sand.

Leon was an amazing instructor
Hi, thanks it was great, 5 stars, great teacher. Cheers, Sarah
Our booking was at midday for 2 hours, but we didn’t get the stuff until 12:15 when the lady came back with the surf school. We were then told to bring the stuff back before 2 pm or she wouldn’t be there (we needed to get our deposit back). This…
Got some surfboards and wetsuits for a couple of hours. They were dropped off at the right place right time, he was very helpful and knowledgeable, gave us a little info about the beach because we hadn't surfed there before. Will definitely be using again and recommending
