Travel to the Isle of Tiree for a women-only weekend combining paddleboarding, hikes, yoga, swimming, and beachside evenings. This 3-night trip is designed to reconnect with nature, embrace outdoor activity, and share time with a small, supportive group. Participants follow a flexible, adventure-focused itinerary that suits all levels and encourages connection and confidence.
Each day begins with optional sunrise paddleboarding sessions on calm waters, allowing participants to warm up and build confidence on the SUP boards. Guided lessons cover balance, paddling technique, and safe water practice, while more experienced paddlers can enjoy optional light surfing when conditions allow.
Afternoon activities include walks along beaches and coastal paths, yoga sessions for stretching and mindfulness, and swimming in safe spots along the island’s coastline. Local stops include small villages, sandy coves, and a visit to a local gin distillery. Each day is designed with flexibility, allowing participants to rest or explore independently while staying connected with the group.
Evenings are spent sharing communal dinners, relaxing around beach firepits, and watching sunsets and sunrises. Guides ensure safety and provide support for all activities, helping participants make the most of each day. The combination of activity, relaxation, and social time is balanced to leave participants refreshed and connected with both nature and the group.
The weekend begins at Broxden Park & Ride in Perth, where participants meet the guides before travelling to Oban. From there, the group crosses by ferry to Tiree, an island with open beaches, shallow waters, and wide horizons ideal for learning and practising SUP skills. The island’s calm waters and sheltered bays provide safe conditions for all skill levels.
Tiree’s environment mixes sandy beaches, small villages, and coastal paths. The local landscape allows for gentle hikes, paddleboarding, and yoga sessions while offering an authentic Scottish island experience. Its natural charm and relaxed pace make it ideal for outdoor adventure and mindful relaxation.
Accommodation includes an overnight stay in Oban before the ferry crossing and shared rooms on Tiree for the remainder of the weekend. Rooms are simple but comfortable, providing a base for rest between activities.
Communal spaces allow participants to eat together, socialise, and relax after a day of outdoor activities. Guides help with luggage, organisation, and preparing participants for each day’s schedule. Proximity to beaches and activity sites reduces travel time and maximises outdoor engagement.
No prior paddleboarding experience is required, though basic fitness is useful for walks, SUP sessions, and optional yoga. Activities are optional, and guides adapt them to individual ability and comfort.
Participants should be comfortable travelling by ferry and staying in shared accommodation. A willingness to spend time outdoors, engage with the group, and adapt to changing weather conditions will ensure a rewarding weekend.
This weekend is designed to provide a supportive, women-only environment focused on confidence, connection, and skill-building. Small groups allow for personalised attention, safe learning, and supportive interaction.
Experienced guides lead activities, ensuring safety while providing advice and instruction. Participants leave the weekend feeling refreshed, accomplished, and connected to both nature and a like-minded group.
No previous paddleboarding experience is required to join this weekend. The sessions start with the basics, including balance, posture, and paddling technique, so even complete beginners can progress safely. Experienced paddlers can practice their skills in sheltered bays or try optional light surfing when conditions allow.
All activities are guided and closely supervised. Instructors adapt the sessions to your comfort and ability, ensuring everyone can participate confidently. Safety is prioritised, and personal guidance is available for those needing extra support.
Participants should bring clothing suitable for all weather, including layers, waterproofs, and a thermal for cooler conditions. Swimwear is required for paddleboarding and swimming activities, and shoes that can get wet are recommended. Personal items such as medication, towels, and change of clothes should also be packed.
You may also want to bring a small backpack for day trips and snacks or drinks for personal use. Guides provide SUP equipment, buoyancy aids, and wetsuits, so you do not need to bring your own gear unless you prefer to.
A moderate level of fitness is beneficial for this weekend, as activities include paddleboarding, gentle hikes, and optional yoga sessions. Paddleboarding involves balance, core strength, and endurance, while walks on beaches and trails require some stamina.
However, the weekend is designed for all abilities. Activities are optional, and guides can adjust sessions to suit individual fitness levels. Even if you are new to exercise, you can enjoy the experience at your own pace.
Breakfasts and shared dinners are included in the price and are prepared with local ingredients where possible. Meals are communal to encourage social interaction and group bonding. Simple, hearty food is provided, and dietary requirements can be accommodated if communicated in advance.
Lunches and teas are not included, so participants should plan to bring packed lunches or snacks for daytime activities. Water and non-alcoholic drinks are recommended to stay hydrated, particularly during active sessions on the SUP or hiking trails.
Accommodation is shared in Oban before the ferry and on Tiree for the remainder of the weekend. Rooms are simple but comfortable, providing a place to rest after active days. Bedding and basic amenities are included, and communal spaces allow participants to eat, relax, and socialise.
Guides assist with organisation and luggage, ensuring smooth transitions between travel, accommodation, and activity sites. The proximity to beaches and activity areas minimises travel time, maximising time spent outdoors.
All SUP sessions and outdoor activities are led by experienced, qualified guides. Safety briefings are provided at the start of each session, and instructors monitor participants throughout. Buoyancy aids, wetsuits, and appropriate safety gear are supplied for all water-based activities.
The guides are trained to manage groups, respond to emergencies, and provide personalised instruction. For activities like optional surfing or swimming, risk is carefully managed, and participants are encouraged to progress at their own pace.
Activities are planned around current weather conditions. If weather prevents safe paddleboarding, alternative activities such as hiking, yoga, or indoor workshops may take place. Guides monitor forecasts and adjust the itinerary to ensure safety while still providing an enjoyable experience.
In rare cases, travel plans such as ferry crossings may need to be rescheduled. Participants will be notified in advance, and guides work to provide suitable alternatives so the weekend remains productive and enjoyable.
Yes, the weekend is designed to be welcoming for solo participants. Small group sizes and structured activities make it easy to meet and interact with like-minded women. Guides facilitate introductions and group cohesion to ensure everyone feels included.
Solo participants can benefit from the supportive environment and shared experiences, from paddleboarding sessions to communal dinners. Many attendees make lasting friendships during the weekend, enhancing the social and personal benefits of the trip.
