Yoga and Paddleboarding through adventure Paddleboarding was fantastic! A great experience as part of my sister’s hen do. Lucy was upbeat, had brilliant knowledge to help up with equipment and took some brilliant photos of us on the water!

Take your first splashes into paddleboarding on the peaceful Loch of Clunie, surrounded by Perthshire’s natural beauty. This relaxed introduction is perfect for anyone curious about trying paddleboarding for the first time or looking to gain confidence in a safe, friendly setting. Come along solo, with friends, or as a family — no pressure, just a fun day out on the water.
When you arrive, Lucy, your instructor, will give you a warm welcome and explain everything you need to know before getting on the water. You’ll be fitted with your equipment and shown the basics of paddling and balancing on land first. There’s plenty of time to get comfortable before launching into the shallows of the loch.
Out on the water, you’ll practise standing, turning, and moving steadily as you take in the scenery. The session focuses on confidence-building rather than speed, so you can enjoy the moment and take things at your own pace. Keep an eye out for local wildlife — from graceful swans to diving ducks — and, if you’re lucky, the occasional osprey overhead.
Towards the end, the group paddles gently back to shore for a relaxed finish. It’s a friendly, informal session where everyone supports each other, and photos may be taken during the experience (depending on conditions) so you can look back on your first day on the board.
Tucked away in the heart of Perthshire, Loch of Clunie is a peaceful freshwater loch surrounded by trees and rolling countryside. Its sheltered water and minimal boat traffic make it an excellent choice for beginners who want a calm environment to learn in. The loch’s small island and scenic setting create the perfect backdrop for your paddleboarding experience.
You’ll meet at a lay-by close to the water, where Lucy’s vehicle and trailer will be waiting. Parking can be limited during busier times, but there are alternative lay-bys nearby and an easy walk to the meeting point. Arriving a little early helps make the start of your session smooth and stress-free.
This session is suitable for complete beginners and those looking to build on the basics. You should be comfortable around water, but you don’t need strong swimming skills. Buoyancy aids are provided and must be worn at all times, with Lucy nearby to offer support whenever needed.
Participants must be at least 7 years old. Anyone under 18 should have a parent or guardian either on the water or watching nearby. If you’d like to discuss accessibility or specific support needs, simply get in touch before booking to arrange a suitable setup.
Each session is led by Lucy, a qualified paddleboarding instructor and long-time member of the Scottish Canoe Association. She holds certifications in Paddlesports Instruction, Inland Open Water Leadership, and Coastal Navigation and Tidal Planning, alongside First Aid and Safeguarding training. Her calm and encouraging teaching style helps every paddler feel confident and supported.
Based in Perthshire, the centre’s ethos is all about making paddleboarding approachable and enjoyable for everyone. Sessions are small, friendly, and built around real learning and connection with nature. Lucy’s enthusiasm for paddleboarding and Scotland’s waterways shines through in every trip, turning new experiences into lasting memories.
