Snorkelling trips here are an ideal way to enjoy the clear waters and marine life of the La Maddalena Archipelago without needing any diving experience. Whether you choose the boat or dinghy option, each excursion is planned to suit all levels and includes everything you need for a memorable time in the water.
Snorkelling excursions depart from Punta Tegge and are led by experienced guides who provide all necessary equipment including masks, snorkels, fins, wetsuits, and leads. Before entering the water, you'll be briefed on the area, safety, and what to look out for. The tour is organized with a big rubber dinghy and can be a shared tourwith scuba divers. Private trips can be arranged with advance notice.
The meeting point is at Punta Tegge on La Maddalena Island, part of the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park in northern Sardinia. This area is known for its turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and diverse marine life including groupers, octopuses, and shoals of colourful fish. Punta Tegge itself is easily accessible and has beach facilities nearby, making it a comfortable base for both pre- and post-trip downtime.
Snorkelling takes place in protected areas around the archipelago, where the conditions are ideal for relaxed swimming and surface exploration. The calm waters, rocky seabed, and small bays provide excellent visibility and varied underwater features to explore.
No previous experience is needed to take part. Participants should feel comfortable in open water and be able to swim. Children are welcome if they are 8+ when accompanied by a parent or guardian, and wetsuits are available in various sizes to ensure comfort in the water.
Since 1996, the centre is one of the longest-established diving facilities in northern Sardinia, with over 40 years of experience in the region. Based just a few metres from the sea at Punta Tegge, it has developed a strong reputation for safe, enjoyable sessions led by a professional and friendly team.
Every session is designed to suit both complete beginners and confident swimmers, with personal guidance offered throughout. The team is led by a qualified NAAD Italia Trainer and supported by instructors who know the area inside out, ensuring your time in the water is both enjoyable and well looked after.
Yes, basic swimming ability is required. You don’t need to be a strong swimmer, but you should feel comfortable in open water and be able to stay afloat while using a snorkel and fins. If you're not confident, it's best to speak with the team beforehand so they can advise whether the trip is right for you.
The guides are experienced in working with a range of abilities and provide support both on the boat and in the water. Everyone is given a safety briefing beforehand, and flotation aids are available if needed.
The waters of the La Maddalena Archipelago are home to a wide range of Mediterranean species. It’s common to see groupers, sea bream, damselfish, starfish, sea urchins, and sometimes even octopuses or moray eels.
The snorkelling sites are chosen for their variety of underwater features and biodiversity. Visibility is usually excellent, especially in the summer, and the guides will point out interesting marine life throughout the session.
Yes, children are welcome, but they must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The minimum age is generally around 8 years old, depending on the child’s confidence in the water and ability to follow safety instructions.
Child-sized wetsuits and snorkelling gear are available, and the guides are used to working with families. If you’re unsure whether your child is ready, it’s worth having a quick chat with the centre (via the adventuro chat) before booking.
The rubber dinghy offers a more basic but adventurous option, often getting closer to smaller coves and less frequented spots. It tends to suit those who prefer a smaller group or a faster, more flexible outing.
