Take to the water around La Maddalena with a range of guided sessions designed to suit all interests and experience levels. Whether you're looking to learn paddling skills, enjoy a guided coastal tour, try SUP yoga, or explore beneath the surface with a snorkel, there's an option to suit.
Kayak or SUP Lessons
Ideal for beginners, these one-hour lessons are designed to build confidence and teach essential paddling skills. You'll start with a land-based introduction where your instructor will go over paddling technique, balance, and water safety. Once you're comfortable, you'll head out into the bay for practical instruction in calm conditions. These sessions are supportive and low-pressure, perfect if you’ve never tried kayaking or paddleboarding before.
Guided Kayak or SUP Excursion
These guided tours are open to anyone with a basic level of fitness and a willingness to paddle. After a short warm-up and skills check, your instructor will lead you along the coastline, stopping at calm bays and scenic spots while sharing local knowledge. Routes vary based on weather and group ability, but typically last between 1.5 and 3 hours and are suitable for adults and older children.
Snorkelling Excursion
For those keen to see the island from under the water as well as on top of it, snorkelling excursions offer a guided experience in safe, clear conditions. You’ll be provided with a snorkel, mask, and fins, and the instructor will lead you to one of the nearby rocky areas with good visibility. These sessions are a mix of swimming, floating, and short explanations of local marine life. You’ll need to be comfortable in the water and able to swim short distances unaided.
SUP Yoga
Combining stand-up paddleboarding with yoga, these one-hour sessions take place in calm water and are led by an experienced SUP yoga instructor. After a gentle paddle to a quiet area, the group will anchor boards and begin a flowing, accessible yoga sequence on the water. Designed for all levels, SUP yoga is a relaxed and playful way to work on balance, flexibility, and breath awareness. A minimum of four people is required per session.
All sessions start from Punta Tegge, a sandy beach with easy access to the water on La Maddalena Island. This calm and scenic launch point is ideal for beginners and excursions alike, with protected bays, rock features, and quiet waters within close reach.
The area is well known for its clear conditions and inviting coastline, making it a great spot for guided sessions that combine instruction with exploration.
No previous paddling or snorkelling experience is needed. All sessions are designed to be beginner-friendly and led by qualified instructors. You must be able to swim, feel comfortable in open water, and be physically able to take part in the chosen activity.
For SUP yoga and snorkelling, a basic level of fitness and balance is helpful, but the sessions are tailored to suit the group’s needs. If you have any health conditions or concerns, please speak to the team before booking.
The centre has over 40 years of experience in water sports and is known for offering supportive, well-structured sessions that cater to all abilities. Instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, and committed to helping each person feel safe and confident on the water.
Being based directly at Punta Tegge allows quick access to excellent paddling and snorkelling routes without the need for long transfers or boats. The equipment is kept in great condition and sessions are delivered with attention to safety and detail, making this a great place to learn, explore, or just try something new in a relaxed and beautiful setting.
Lessons are designed to teach you the basic skills needed to paddle safely and with confidence, and they take place mostly in calm, shallow waters close to the shore. They’re best for beginners or those wanting to build up technique before heading out independently. Instructors focus on helping you improve balance, paddle strokes, and safety awareness.
Excursions are guided trips that focus more on exploring the coastline, with instruction as needed. You’ll still be supported throughout, but the aim is to enjoy the environment while moving at a steady pace. These are ideal for people who feel ready to spend more time on the water with a bit of guidance along the way.
Not at all. SUP yoga sessions are open to complete beginners as well as people who practise regularly. The instructor keeps the session light, balanced, and tailored to the group’s needs. It’s less about doing advanced poses and more about building comfort on the board and enjoying the environment.
The yoga takes place on stable paddleboards, and you’ll be anchored in calm water to prevent drifting. If you’ve never tried yoga on the water before, it’s a great way to connect movement with the natural setting in a relaxed and friendly format.
Snorkelling excursions include your mask, snorkel, fins, and a floatation aid if needed. After a short safety briefing and gear check, your instructor will lead you to a nearby snorkelling site with good visibility and safe entry points. They’ll remain in the water with you and guide you around the best areas.
These sessions are about exploring local marine life and underwater features in a supported way. They're suitable for anyone comfortable swimming in open water, and while you don’t need to be an expert swimmer, you should feel confident wearing fins and using a snorkel for an extended period.
If you’re new to kayaking or SUP, starting with a lesson is a great way to build your confidence before heading off on your own. If you’ve paddled before or feel comfortable learning as you go, then a guided excursion gives you a chance to explore a bit further under the supervision of an instructor.
If you prefer a slower pace or want something less focused on technique, SUP yoga and snorkelling are excellent options. These let you enjoy the water in different ways, and the team is always available to help you choose based on your comfort level and interests.
Yes, it’s often possible to book multiple sessions in a single day, especially if you're interested in combining something active like a kayak excursion with something more relaxed like SUP yoga or snorkelling. Depending on availability, the team can help arrange your day so there's time to rest in between sessions.
If you're planning a half or full day at Punta Tegge, there are shaded areas and places to sit nearby, so you can take a break between activities. We recommend contacting in advance if you want to try more than one session to make sure everything can be scheduled comfortably.
