This course equips you with the skills and knowledge to teach Personal Watercraft Proficiency and Safety Courses, either at RYA centres or onboard superyachts. Ideal for superyacht deck crew or anyone looking to share their passion for watercraft with others.
This three-day course is packed with both practical and theoretical learning. Starting with safety equipment and departure checks, you'll be guided through the essentials of navigating and handling a personal watercraft. Practical sessions include high-speed manoeuvres, person-overboard recovery, and berthing techniques such as mooring on buoys and docking in marinas. You'll also explore trip planning, including the use of charts and electronic navigation.
The course highlights teaching strategies, ensuring you can confidently instruct others on all aspects of personal watercraft operation. You'll practise leading groups, managing safety, and delivering clear demonstrations of key skills. By the end of the course, you'll be prepared to deliver both Proficiency and Safety courses in professional settings.
Our training base is located at Port Forum, an ideal site with access to calm and open waters. This coastal location offers plenty of sunshine and mild conditions, creating a comfortable environment for learning.

To join, you must hold the RYA Personal Watercraft Proficiency certificate and have prior watercraft experience. This ensures you're ready to focus on instructor-level skills and techniques.

The course runs from 10:00 to 18:00 over three consecutive days, allowing for both practical and theoretical sessions.
Training takes place at Port Forum, Barcelona. This location offers ideal water conditions for personal watercraft training and is easy to reach.
The course has a maximum of 2 participants per jet ski to ensure personalised instruction and safety during training.
