Lose the phone, ditch the daily noise, and step into a different rhythm for the day. This Rewilding Retreat in the Dorset woods blends meaningful outdoor skills with nature-based wellbeing in a setting that feels miles from modern life. You'll spend time around the fire, learn primal techniques like bushcraft and archery, and reconnect with the land through drumming, storytelling, and plant discovery.
Your day begins with an archery session that’s all about presence and focus—aiming not just at the target but into yourself. You’ll move on to bushcraft fire lighting, using only natural materials and traditional methods to get a fire going. Knife work and crafting follow, with time to make simple but useful woodland tools and learn the care and respect that come with handling a blade.
In the afternoon, it shifts into connection-based experiences. You’ll learn about seasonal edible and medicinal plants and engage the senses through nature walks and collecting natural materials. Around the fire, drumming builds group energy and self-expression, followed by storytelling that draws on myth, landscape and personal reflection. It’s a chance to feel rooted, engaged, and very much alive.
This rewilding experience takes place in a private Dorset woodland on the edge of Tolpuddle, around 30 minutes from Swanage, Weymouth and Bournemouth. The site has been carefully set up to feel off-grid but comfortable, with shelter, open fire circles, and composting toilets. It’s a peaceful natural space, rich with birdsong, wildflowers and woodland trails.
Facilities are rustic but designed for comfort, with shaded areas and space to sit and reflect. You’ll be walking on natural woodland ground for most of the day, so supportive footwear is essential. This location has been chosen for its peaceful atmosphere and how well it supports deep connection, not only with nature but with the people you share the experience with.
This session is open to adults and children aged 8 and up. You don’t need any previous experience—just a willingness to take part, slow down, and be open to the experience. Activities are guided in a relaxed, supportive way and adjusted based on the group’s needs and comfort levels.
A minimum of 6 people are required to run this retreat, with group size capped to keep the atmosphere relaxed and personal. If you have fewer than 6, get in touch to join an existing date. Please bring lunch, snacks, and plenty of water, along with weather-appropriate clothing and any personal items you may need for the day.
This day is completely unique and is led by Glenn, a highly experienced outdoor instructor and trained shamanic practitioner. He brings a deep understanding of nature connection work and creates a supportive, grounded environment for people to reconnect with themselves and the natural world.
Unlike typical activity days, this experience offers depth, calm and space to truly decompress. Whether you're coming with friends, as a couple or as part of your own personal journey, this session offers something different—tools for mindfulness, confidence in nature-based skills, and a stronger connection to what really matters.
