Step into the woods and get ready to test your aim with this lively archery and axe throwing combo session. Blending skill, focus and a bit of friendly competition, it’s a 2.5-hour experience that offers plenty of action and guidance in a calm woodland setting.
Across the 2.5 hours, you’ll switch between two classic target sports—archery and axe throwing—with expert guidance throughout. There's no hanging around or taking turns; everyone gets their own space and equipment, staying active for the full duration. Expect light-hearted games and challenges designed to help you build skills while keeping things fun and engaging.
Each part of the session is taught from the ground up, so no experience is needed. If you’ve done it before, instructors will adapt the coaching to match your level and push your technique further. Axe throwing is all about getting the right motion and timing, while archery rewards steady control and focus. Younger children (ages 6–12) can stick to archery while others try both activities nearby, so it’s ideal for mixed groups looking to share the experience.
Hidden just outside Fordingbridge, the New Forest woodland location gives this session a peaceful, off-grid feel. It’s not a theme park-style set-up—just a quiet, well-designed outdoor range that feels rooted in the landscape. The exact meeting point is shared in your booking confirmation via Google Maps, which is far more accurate than using the postcode.
Reaching the site is straightforward, with easy access from Ringwood, Salisbury and surrounding areas. You’ll find free parking on site and a short walk—about three minutes—to reach the woodland ranges. There’s a gentle gravel incline on the way in, so if anyone in your group has mobility concerns, please let us know beforehand so we can advise.
You don’t need any prior experience to take part. These activities are set up to be beginner-friendly, and the instructors are on hand to make sure everyone gets the most out of the session. For returning participants or those with some background, there’s room to refine and progress your skills. Under 18s must be accompanied by a participating adult, and bookings for under 18s must include at least two places.
Plan ahead by dressing for the day’s weather—layers, waterproofs, or sun protection depending on the forecast. Closed-toe shoes are essential, and bringing a drink, snacks and any necessary medication is a good idea. Arriving 15 minutes early will ensure everything runs on time and gives you time to reach the range comfortably.
Unlike larger activity venues, this centre focuses on offering well-paced, personal sessions that allow you to genuinely enjoy the outdoors. The team behind the sessions are highly experienced and genuinely enthusiastic about helping people feel confident and capable—whether they’re new to axe throwing or returning to archery after years away.
Everything is set up with care, from the quality of the equipment to the layout of the woodland ranges. With small group sizes, no rushing, and time to actually develop your technique, the experience feels thoughtful, well-supported and great value. It’s a place where people feel welcome, have fun, and leave having learned something new.
