Try your hand at archery, crossbow, and axe throwing in one action-packed session set in peaceful Dorset woodland. With expert instructors, high-quality kit and no queuing, this is a great way to spend 2.5 hours outdoors doing something completely different.
This session is all about freedom and fun. After a short safety briefing, you’ll head straight into action with access to archery, rifle crossbow, and axe throwing ranges. There’s no rotating in big groups—once you’re set up, you’ll be free to move between the activities at your own pace. Whether you want to focus on one skill or try a bit of everything, the instructors will be on hand to offer coaching and tips to help you improve throughout.
Everything takes place in a quiet, forested setting on private land in Tolpuddle, away from traffic or crowds. The ranges are set up to feel part of the woodland, giving the experience a natural, relaxed feel. Suitable for beginners and those with a bit of experience, the session is easygoing but packed with practical skill building. If you’re bringing younger kids (aged 6–11), they can do archery only while older group members take on the full trio—everyone stays close by and shares the experience together.
You’ll find this session at a secluded site just outside the village of Tolpuddle in Dorset, not far from Dorchester. The woodland is private and peaceful, offering a back-to-nature setting without distractions. It’s the kind of place that feels properly away from it all but is still easy to reach from across Dorset, including Poole, Weymouth, and Blandford Forum.
Free parking is available on-site and it’s a short walk from your car to the activity area. The woodland terrain is uneven in places, so if you have anyone in your group with mobility needs, let us know and we’ll do what we can to help. Full directions and Google Maps info will be sent in your confirmation email to make getting here straightforward.
You don’t need any previous experience to take part—this session is open to complete beginners and those looking to sharpen existing skills. Coaching is built around your level and adjusted as you go. For participants under 18, a minimum booking of two places is required, and an adult must be part of the group.
Wear comfortable clothing that suits the weather and bring layers or waterproofs if needed. Closed-toe shoes are essential, and it’s worth packing drinks, snacks, and any personal medication. Arriving 15 minutes early is advised so you can park and settle in before the session starts.
This centre offers a more personal and down-to-earth approach to outdoor activities. Sessions are kept small to maximise your time on each activity, with instructors who genuinely love what they do. They focus on helping you get the most from your time—whether that’s learning something new, spending quality time with others, or just switching off in the woods.
The woodland ranges are carefully laid out to feel natural and welcoming, and all the equipment is top quality and well maintained. With the flexibility to move between activities and tailor the experience to suit your group, it’s a great alternative to busier or more commercial activity centres. Whether you're with family, friends, or a stag or hen group, it’s all about having a good time in good company.
