Experience the waves like never before with a private surf lesson designed just for you. Set on the wild Atlantic coast in Strandhill, this session offers hands-on coaching, tailored instruction, and a relaxed pace that’s all about your personal progress. Whether you're completely new to surfing or want to sharpen your skills, you’ll get the full attention of a qualified instructor throughout.
After a warm welcome at the National Surf Centre, you'll meet your personal surf coach who will run through your goals, previous experience (if any), and go over some essential theory. You'll be given a properly fitted wetsuit and surfboard suited to your level, followed by a beach-based session covering water safety, paddling, pop-ups, and positioning. This is where you'll start building confidence before heading into the water.
Once in the surf, your coach will guide you every step of the way with clear feedback, support, and encouragement. With a private format, you’ll have the flexibility to progress at your own pace—whether that means catching your first whitewater wave or working on turns and reading the ocean. Expect high-quality coaching with plenty of time in the water, all in a safe and fun environment.
Strandhill is a small but lively surf town on Ireland’s west coast, known for its consistent Atlantic swell and laid-back vibe. The lesson takes place at the National Surf Centre, right beside the beach, making it easy to get from theory to wave in minutes. This location is ideal for learners due to its open beach break, sandy bottom, and accessible facilities.
The area also offers great coffee shops, seaweed baths, and beautiful walks along the coast if you want to make a day of it. The welcoming local community and the town’s reputation for surf culture make Strandhill a favourite for both beginners and returning surfers alike.
There are no previous experience requirements to take part in this private surf session. The only essentials are being comfortable in the water and physically able to swim short distances.
Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or supervised from the beach for the full duration of the session.
The surf school is led by a dedicated team who live and breathe surfing. With 16 years of experience, founder Zuhé has taught in locations around the world and brings that depth of knowledge to every session. His partner Marianna is the first friendly face you’ll meet, always bringing positive energy and making everyone feel welcome.
Together, they’ve built a surf experience based on personal connection, quality instruction, and the belief that surfing should be fun and accessible for all. Their base in Strandhill reflects their love of community, waves, and the Irish coast, and their teaching style blends safety, skill, and a passion for sharing the surf lifestyle.
