Looking to improve your trials riding in a way that’s completely tailored to you? Private training sessions in Whitewell, Lancashire are available whether you’re brand new or already experienced – with expert instructors, flexible formats, and the choice to ride your own bike or use one of ours.
Each private session lasts one hour and is fully tailored to your ability, goals and chosen bike. You’ll meet your instructor and head out onto a 100-acre trials area packed with natural and technical features. Whether you’re just getting your wheels turning or want help perfecting a specific skill, your instructor will work closely with you to make progress in the areas that matter most to you.
The focus could be on anything from mastering tight turns and throttle control to line choice, hill climbs, balance drills, or clutch/throttle work – depending on what you want to cover and the type of bike you’re riding. Sessions can be repeated or stacked to increase time on the bike and allow deeper progression.
Bikes can be either electric or petrol. Our EM electric trials fleet includes the entry-level EM Epure (great for riders used to mountain bikes), the clutch-equipped EM Epure Race, or the competition-level EM Epure FACTOR-e. Each bike has adjustable power settings, so they can be tuned to suit your riding level on the fly.
For petrol fans, you’ll have access to the Beta Evo 250 2-stroke or the Montesa 4RT 260 4-stroke. These are both geared with clutches and require kick-starting. The Beta is a well-balanced classic choice, while the Montesa is known for its reliability and slightly different engine character – both bikes are commonly seen at trials events across the UK.
All safety kit is included if you’re hiring a bike. A drink and home baking are also provided post-session – and if you’re under 18, a parent or guardian must stay on-site for the full duration of your lesson.
The training takes place in Whitewell, a small hamlet in Lancashire’s Ribble Valley. It’s known for its countryside charm and scenic surroundings, with winding lanes and hills that make the area perfect for off-road riding. The location is just outside the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, providing a peaceful and remote backdrop to your time on the bike.
The 100-acre site itself has a wide variety of terrain with routes and challenges for every level. Whether you’re a beginner wanting to build skills in open space or a returning rider looking to try more technical sections, there’s plenty of space to progress safely with expert guidance on hand throughout.
If you're bringing your own bike, riders as young as 4 are welcome as long as they’re confident handling their machine. With hire bikes, the minimum age is 6 to ensure the size and weight are manageable.
No previous trials experience is necessary. All abilities are welcome and the session will be adjusted to suit your pace and background – including road riders, mountain bikers, or complete newcomers.
This location offers more than just a field – it’s a purpose-built trials training ground with a mix of terrain that provides something for all levels. With expert instructors who know the area and the bikes inside out, your session is guaranteed to be productive, safe and enjoyable. The ability to bring your own bike or use one of ours makes it flexible and accessible.
Riders also benefit from top-quality electric and petrol bike options, with clear support and instruction on how to get the best from them. With comfortable facilities, high-standard equipment, and a friendly approach, this is a great place to learn or level up your skills without pressure.
No previous experience is required. These sessions are designed for all ability levels, whether you’ve never ridden a trials bike before, have experience on a mountain or road bike, or already ride trials regularly. The format works equally well for complete beginners and advanced riders alike.
Because each session is private and fully tailored, your instructor can adapt the content to your starting point. From building confidence in basic balance and throttle control, to working on more advanced clutch techniques or competition-style riding, the session is focused on your specific goals and comfort level.
Yes, you can choose from a fleet of electric or petrol trials bikes, depending on your preference and experience. The electric range includes the EM Epure, EM Epure Race, and EM Epure FACTOR-e – all of which have different levels of complexity and adjustability. These are great options for those wanting a quieter, simpler riding experience, and ideal for riders from mountain biking or cycling backgrounds.
If you’re more familiar with traditional trials bikes or want to learn how to manage gears and a clutch, the petrol options include the Beta Evo 250 2T and Montesa 4RT 260 4T. These bikes offer a different riding feel, with kick-start and gear management required, making them suitable for more confident or experienced riders.
If you’re hiring a bike, all the essential riding kit is included – helmet, boots, gloves, trousers and a jersey – as long as you fit within the available sizing (jersey up to 46" chest, trousers 40" waist, boots EU50, helmet 63cm). You should still wear comfortable base layers and bring any medication, snacks, or extra clothing you might need.
If you’re bringing your own bike, we recommend also bringing your own riding gear. That way, you know it fits correctly and you're comfortable on your bike. Even with BYOB sessions, we can lend kit if needed, but it’s subject to availability and fit.
Riders aged 4 and over can take part with their own bikes, as long as they are confident and have suitable protective gear. For those hiring bikes, the minimum age is 6 due to the size and handling required. All riders must be physically able to control the bike safely.
Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian present on-site for the entire session. This is a requirement under training guidelines to ensure safety and support in the event of an emergency. The environment is very family-friendly, and there are spaces on-site for parents to relax while the session takes place.
Each private training session is 1 hour long. If you want more time on the bike, you’re welcome to book consecutive sessions on the same day – just look for availability and select multiple slots. This gives you the flexibility to structure your session however suits you best.
Many riders, particularly those progressing quickly or working towards specific goals, book two sessions back-to-back with a short break in between. It’s a great way to stay fresh while still getting more from the day, especially if travelling from further afield.
The training area covers 100 acres and features a wide variety of terrain. You’ll find grassy sections, banks, woodland, rocky areas, tight turns, obstacles, and elevation changes. This allows your instructor to gradually introduce more technical challenges as your confidence builds.
The benefit of having private instruction is that your instructor can select specific features suited to your level. Beginners might work on smoother, flatter terrain at first, while more experienced riders can tackle more technical areas with expert guidance on line choice and bike control.
