Whether it is your first visit or a return trip, PADI Advanced Open Water training in Marsa Alam is an easy way to see more than the hotel strip. Pool skills, theory modules and open-water dives build toward a recognised certification with instructor support throughout. Allow 2 days door to door with collection included. A meal is built into the longer format, which gives you a proper break between the active sections.
Course days alternate briefings, pool or bay modules and open-water dives as skills build toward certification. You practise buoyancy, mask clearing and emergency drills before Advanced Open Water qualifying dives, with time to repeat anything you want to nail down. Theory, confined water and open-water modules are spaced across the course days rather than crammed into one rushed session.
Early modules focus on kit familiarity and drills before you head to open-water training sites. A meal on board or at a desert stop splits the active time and gives you shade between legs. Weather can shift open-water schedules, and instructors use pool or theory time rather than rushing a qualifying dive in poor visibility.
The Marsa Alam coast is Egypt's southern Red Sea strip, with hotels spaced along bays rather than one dense frontage. Inland wadis and desert tracks open up a short transfer beyond the resort road.
Hotel pickup covers the main Marsa Alam resort belt, though traffic along the coastal road can stretch collection windows on busy mornings. Be ready a few minutes early at reception, eat breakfast before an early departure, and give your hotel name when you book so the driver finds the right gate.
Course days mix classroom, pool and sea, so fitness and water ease help. Classroom, pool and open-water modules spread across the course days, with theory and skills practised before qualifying dives.
Course kit includes swimwear, towel and study time as your instructor directs. Say medical conditions when you book so the dive centre can advise on forms and doctor sign-off if needed.
Hotel pickup on course days keeps travel simple between pool, classroom and open-water sites. Instructors can slow the pace if you need extra repetition on buoyancy, mask clearing or emergency drills.
The course team work with local conditions so you still progress even when the sea is not perfect. You leave with a clear record of skills practised and dives logged toward your certification goal.
We'll collect you from your Marsa Alam hotel and take you to the start point. Be ready with the kit listed for this session and any voucher details. The crew talk through safety, timing and how the padi course will run before you head out.
The core of the day is guided padi course time in the Red Sea. Stay with your group, listen to the briefing and ask if you want a slower pace or extra help with kit. Listen to paddle commands, spacing advice or riding tips from your guide and stay with the group unless told otherwise.
A meal is served between active sections so you can drink water, eat and reset in the shade before the next leg of the day. Your guide stays close throughout and can slow the pace if you want extra help with kit, spacing in the water or a quieter route on the trail.
After the last section you transfer back to your hotel in Marsa Alam. The whole experience is about 2 days door to door, so keep the rest of your schedule flexible. Gather your belongings, thank the crew and double-check you have towels, dry clothes and anything you left on the boat or at the base before you leave.
Yes. Collection from hotels in the Marsa Alam area is part of this experience. Give your hotel name when you book so the driver can find the right gate, and be ready in the window you are given.
Build the whole 16-hour shape into your day rather than planning something tight immediately afterwards. Traffic along resort roads can slow the van.
This is a certification course spread across multiple days with theory, confined water skills and open-water dives with instructors. You should be comfortable swimming and in reasonable health for dive training.
Say if you are nervous or a weak swimmer so the crew can pace the session and offer flotation where it helps.
A meal is served as part of the day. Say any dietary needs when you confirm your place so the kitchen can try to match them.
Soft drinks beyond what is served may be extra. Bring cash if you want extras on the boat or at the base.
Practical kit is swimwear or comfortable clothes for the activity, sun protection and a towel. Closed shoes help on boats and in the desert.
A dry bag keeps phones off wet decks. Reef-safe sunscreen matters on long days in the Marsa Alam sun.
Course kit and tanks are provided for training dives. Classroom materials are covered in the course format.
Fit helmets, life jackets or harnesses before you start so you are not adjusting them mid-session. Ask when you book if you need a slower pace or extra briefing time on the day.
This runs for groups from 1 to 15 people. Smaller groups mean more attention from your guide on the water or in the dunes.
Private formats keep the whole boat or vehicle to your party. Follow the guide's spacing in the water and on trails.
About 16 hours including collection and the main activity time. Keep the whole window free rather than squeezing other plans around it.
A late appearance at reception or the meeting point shortens time on the activity because the session leaves with the group.
Families are welcome when children are comfortable with the activity format. Infant seats may be available on transfers where listed.
Say ages when you book so the crew can plan seating, kit sizes and pacing on the water or in the desert.
This activity needs workable conditions. If wind, sea state or sand storms rule it out, the crew may reschedule or switch sites.
You will be told as early as they can once morning conditions are clear. Have a loose plan for the rest of the day.
Give your hotel name and a reachable phone number when you book. We'll confirm the pickup window or meeting pin closer to the day.
Notes are the place for dietary needs, ages, or a later pickup if you have an evening plan after the session.
