Become a White Water Kayak Coach with our comprehensive one-day assessment. This assessment will evaluate your personal paddling, rescue, safety, leadership, group skills, and theoretical knowledge, ensuring you are fully prepared to coach others on white water.
During your assessment, you will be guided through various stages by your assessor. This process includes arranging the best times and dates, ensuring appropriate assessment conditions, and confirming you have someone to coach. The assessment itself is divided into several components:
You will begin with an Assessment Discussion Task, where your theoretical knowledge and coaching experience will be discussed. This is followed by a practical coaching session to demonstrate your coaching abilities in real-time.
Next, your rescue skills will be evaluated, ensuring you can handle emergency situations effectively. Personal skills assessment will focus on your paddling proficiency and technique. Lastly, you will be assessed on your background knowledge, understanding, and experience, confirming your readiness to coach.
