Multi-pitch climbing is an excellent way to experience climbing in a new and exciting way, providing the opportunity to scale longer routes while enjoying a more relaxed pace. Whether you are a beginner or have some experience, this course caters to all levels of climbers. You’ll get to explore scenic locations and tackle various multi-pitch routes under expert guidance, ensuring a safe and fun experience.
The course is tailored to your current climbing abilities, so no matter if you're a beginner or an experienced climber, you'll be challenged at an appropriate level. The day typically begins with a safety briefing and equipment check, followed by warm-up climbs. As you tackle multi-pitch routes, you’ll gain valuable skills in route planning, belaying, and setting up anchors. You’ll work closely with your instructor to improve your climbing technique, learning the ropes of both leading and seconding on multi-pitch routes.
The course is flexible, allowing for either a half-day or full-day of climbing depending on your preference and energy levels. For beginners, the day will focus on learning the basics, while more experienced climbers will be introduced to more challenging routes and techniques. Expect to take in some of the UK's most beautiful climbing locations, with the chance to develop your climbing confidence and knowledge.
The course takes place in some of the best climbing areas in the UK, including the Lake District, Wales, and Scotland. Each area offers its own unique experience, with the Lake District providing a range of classic routes and beautiful scenery.
Scotland and Wales are also home to world-renowned multi-pitch climbs, with the accessible Old Man of Stoer in Scotland being a popular option for those seeking a bit more adventure. Wherever you choose to climb, you'll be surrounded by amazing landscapes that only add to the excitement.
Some climbing experience is recommended but not essential. If you have some basic knowledge of climbing, that will help, but you don’t need to be an expert to join this course.
This is a great way for beginners to learn the ropes of multi-pitch climbing, while more experienced climbers can refine their skills and tackle more challenging routes.
With over 20 years of experience in the outdoor activities industry, the instructors are passionate about teaching and sharing their knowledge. They are fully qualified and hold memberships with the Association of Mountaineering Instructors, ensuring your safety and wellbeing throughout the course. Their extensive experience climbing in locations like the Lake District, Wales, and the Alps means you're learning from someone who truly understands the mountains.
The company’s focus has always been to provide fun, adventurous, and memorable experiences. The aim is not only to teach you the technical aspects of multi-pitch climbing but also to help you gain skills you can use in your future adventures. With small group sizes and an emphasis on safety and enjoyment, you’re sure to have a rewarding session.
This course is suitable for climbers of all experience levels. If you're a beginner, you don't need any prior climbing experience, as the course will cover the basics and help you gain confidence.
For more experienced climbers, you'll have the opportunity to refine your skills and tackle more challenging multi-pitch routes.
The course can be booked as a half-day or full-day session, depending on your preference. A half-day typically lasts around 4 hours, while a full day will extend to about 8 hours.
Both options are designed to give you enough time to learn and enjoy the experience while fitting into your schedule.
The maximum instructor-to-participant ratio is 1:2, ensuring that you get the attention and guidance you need throughout the session.
For larger groups, additional instructors can be arranged, but the ratio will still remain small to maintain safety and quality of instruction.
All necessary climbing equipment, including harnesses, ropes, and helmets, is provided for you.
However, you will need to bring personal items such as climbing shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a packed lunch if you're doing a full-day course.
You should also wear comfortable clothing suitable for physical activity.
It’s important to wear clothing that allows for movement and is suitable for outdoor activities. Weather can change quickly, so bring layers to ensure you're comfortable, including a waterproof jacket and warm clothing if necessary.
