Yoga and Paddleboarding through adventure Paddleboarding was fantastic! A great experience as part of my sister’s hen do. Lucy was upbeat, had brilliant knowledge to help up with equipment and took some brilliant photos of us on the water!

Glide silently across Loch Faskally as the moon casts a silver glow over the water. This 1.5-hour evening paddle invites you to experience the Highlands in a calm and reflective way, with the still loch mirroring the night sky. Enjoy the quiet, connect with nature, and explore the water by paddleboard under the stars.
The session begins with a short briefing and fitting of all safety equipment, including wetsuits, buoyancy aids, and optional head torches. You’ll receive guidance on paddling and stability before setting off onto the water.
As you glide across the loch, you’ll experience the calm of a Highland night, with hills silhouetted against the starlit sky. The quiet is punctuated only by the gentle splash of your paddle, creating a feeling of complete immersion in the environment. Your guide will point out features along the shoreline and ensure you feel confident and safe at all times.
The journey provides time for reflection and appreciation of the natural surroundings. You can pause to enjoy the reflections of the moon, listen to the night sounds, or simply let yourself float while absorbing the peaceful atmosphere. The session ends back at the shore, where you can relax and receive free photos from your adventure.
Loch Faskally lies in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, offering a sheltered environment that makes moonlit paddling accessible and safe. The loch’s calm surface is ideal for evening sessions, while surrounding hills and forest create a natural backdrop that enhances the tranquillity.
The meeting point is at Armoury Road Car Park, from where you’ll carry equipment a short distance to the loch. Parking is available for a small fee, and the location provides easy access to the water while preserving the quiet atmosphere of the paddleboarding experience.
No previous paddleboarding experience is required, but participants should be comfortable balancing on a board in calm water. The session is best suited to those aged 12 and over.
If you prefer a more private experience, sessions can be tailored for your group of up to 14 people. This allows you to move at your own pace and receive more individual guidance from your instructor.
The experience is led by professional guides trained in both safety and evening paddling techniques. They are attentive, friendly, and focused on helping you enjoy the quiet magic of Loch Faskally after dark.
By combining the unique setting of the Highlands with expert guidance, this session offers a rare opportunity to enjoy the loch in complete calm and serenity. Whether seeking a meditative evening or a new way to connect with nature, the session provides a memorable experience in a safe and supportive environment.
You’ll need to come prepared for time on the water, so make sure to bring essentials that keep you comfortable before, during, and after your session. A towel and a full change of clothes are recommended in case you get wet, along with swimwear or trunks to wear under a wetsuit. It’s also a good idea to wear shoes that can get wet or bring a spare pair for afterwards.
Snacks and drinks will help keep your energy up, especially on longer sessions. If you take any medication, please ensure you have it with you on the day. And, most importantly, bring a sense of adventure and a willingness to have fun—this makes all the difference on the water.
These activities are open to participants aged 12 and above. This ensures everyone taking part can safely handle the equipment and enjoy the experience. The sessions are designed to be inclusive and family-friendly while still maintaining the right level of supervision and safety for younger participants.
Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian either on the water with them or nearby at the viewing point for the duration of the session. This policy may vary slightly depending on the specific activity or location, but safety and supervision are always the top priority.
All sessions depend on the weather and water conditions to make sure they’re safe and fun for everyone involved. In the case of strong winds, heavy rain, or unsafe water levels, sessions may need to be postponed or moved to a more sheltered location. The decision will always be made with your safety in mind.
If a session has to be rescheduled or relocated, you’ll be contacted in advance with as much notice as possible. The team keeps a close eye on forecasts and conditions, and any changes will be clearly communicated so that you can plan your day with confidence.
This session is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some paddleboarding experience. The calm water conditions make it easy to get used to balancing on the board, and the guide provides step-by-step instruction to help you feel confident throughout.
You can take your time and go at a pace that feels comfortable, whether it’s your first night paddle or your first time on a board altogether.
Head torches are required for visibility and safety on the water. The guides provide advice on using them effectively to navigate while still enjoying the ambient moonlight.
All other equipment, including SUP boards, paddles, and buoyancy aids, is provided if you don’t bring your own. Wetsuits are available to keep you warm in cooler conditions.
Paddling under the moon offers a unique sense of calm. The loch is quiet, the water reflects the night sky, and the surrounding hills create a serene backdrop. The session encourages focus, allowing you to connect with the stillness and beauty of the Highlands.
You’ll have opportunities to pause, listen to night sounds, and take in the reflections and light of the moon on the water, making it a reflective and memorable experience.
