What to Expect
The day will start with an introduction to the equipment and the basics of climbing. You’ll then move on to practical exercises, focusing on the key skills required for climbing such as belaying, footwork, and balance. Most of the session will be spent on the rock, with a chance to practice climbing techniques in a relaxed environment. The focus will be on bottom roping, where the instructor controls the rope, allowing you to climb safely and gain confidence.
The instructor will guide you through various climbs, offering personalised advice and encouragement to help you improve. The session is flexible, so if you’re progressing well, you can tackle more challenging routes, or if you're new to it all, you'll have plenty of time to build your skills step by step.
Location
This course is run at multiple locations across the Lake District, renowned for its varied rock climbing routes. Depending on the conditions and the group’s ability, you’ll be taken to a suitable location where you can safely try your hand at climbing.
The area offers some of the best beginner-friendly climbing spots, with great views and the chance to experience outdoor climbing in an iconic environment.
