Try coasteering in South Devon, where adventure meets the stunning coastline of Salcombe. Perfect for beginners, families, and friends, our coasteering experience promises an exhilarating journey through hidden caves, channels, and breathtaking cliffs.
Prepare for an adrenaline-fuelled adventure along Salcombe's coastline! During this 2.5-hour coasteering session, you'll traverse rocks, leap from cliffs (up to 5 meters high), and explore hidden caves.
With a total course length of approximately 1.5 hours on the water, our experienced guides will lead you through this exhilarating journey, suitable for ages 6 and above. All necessary equipment is provided.
Our meeting point is the North Sands car park near The Winking Prawn. Look out for our team members on the sea wall opposite the car park entrance upon your arrival.
The car park operates on a pay-and-display basis and tends to fill up quickly, especially during the summer months.
If you're staying in Salcombe, we suggest walking to North Sands or utilising the Park 'n Ride service across from Salcombe petrol station if driving in from out of town.
For drivers, please ensure to allow ample time before your activity begins.
No prior experience is needed! All equipment is provided; however, participants are advised to bring their own sturdy shoes for added comfort.
Established by childhood friends who roamed the South Hams, our centre embodies a deep love for adventure. With local insight and expertise, trust us for an unforgettable coasteering experience in Salcombe. Our friendly and experienced instructors ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, making it an ideal activity for families, friends, and individuals alike.
Because you’ll be covered from head to toe in neoprene and have a high-quality buoyancy aid, you’ll float really well. The Salcombe coastline is sheltered and there is less swimming involved than some of our other experiences.
Please see our other activities at the bottom of this page to book a more intensive coasteering session, such as our Gara Rock Experience, which involves a bit more swimming.
We highly recommend that you bring a pair of trainers/walking shoes and that they have laces and a good sole and they are not completely ruined already. Because of the nature of the environment, we’ll be traversing over uneven rocky ground which is sometimes slippery, a good pair of trainers or walking shoes will provide the best stability for these conditions. Neoprene rock shoes without laces or pull cords are not recommended.
We will always endeavour to give you as much warning as possible, days in advance if we think the weather is going to turn against us on the day. Should we have to cancel on the day due to bad weather, we can offer to either reschedule you for another day, offer a gift voucher, or provide a full refund.
In a nutshell, no! The big attraction of coasteering is definitely the jumping aspect, however, there is so much more to explore with coasteering than just the jumping. We don’t pressure anyone into doing anything they don’t want to, it’s all a challenge by choice, as we like to say, and jumping is always optional.
Yes, absolutely you can. However, it must be a long sleeve wetsuit and ideally 5mm, especially if its for a child.
From North Sands, there is a 5-minute hike up and over the hill to South Sands before we start coasteering. Once coasteering, there are lots of places to get out of the water and walk if swimming becomes too tiring. If you have had any recent operations or have struggled with health problems recently, we’d recommend consulting a doctor before coasteering.
Yes, be all means. However, we are not responsible for it at any point. We recommend a chest harness, and not jumping with it in your hand or attached to you.
Coasteering presents an adrenaline-fuelled coastal challenge. Simply put, it involves traversing rocks, leaping from cliffs and ledges, wild swimming through swell and channels, and much more as you explore the coastline.
