Build on your first session and start sailing with real control on the shallow waters of Ribersborg in Malmö. This progression lesson is designed to turn early attempts into consistent, confident windsurfing.
This session is designed for those who have already completed a beginner lesson and are ready to progress. After a quick recap of key fundamentals, you’ll head straight onto the water to focus on improving consistency and control.
With increased confidence, you’ll begin to relax into your stance and movements. The shallow water at Ribersborg allows you to practise repeatedly without pressure, making it easier to refine technique. Instructors provide ongoing feedback, helping you adjust sail position, body stance, and direction more effectively.
As the session develops, you’ll start linking movements together more smoothly, sailing longer distances and maintaining better control. Many participants reach a point where they feel in charge of the board, rather than reacting to it. This sets the foundation for progressing into faster sailing and more advanced techniques.
The session takes place at Ribersborg, one of Malmö’s most accessible windsurfing spots. The shallow, sandy beach creates ideal conditions for progression, allowing you to stand when needed and reset quickly between attempts.
You’ll meet at Brygga 1 near Strandkiosken along Ribersborgsstigen in Limhamn. The equipment storage is located in the same building, making it easy to get organised and onto the water efficiently. The open coastline also provides consistent wind exposure, which supports steady progression.
Participants should have completed a beginner windsurfing session or have equivalent experience. You should be able to stand on the board, pull up the sail, and sail short distances in light wind conditions.
You should also be comfortable in the water and able to swim while wearing a buoyancy aid. A moderate level of fitness is recommended, as you’ll be active throughout the session.
The shallow water environment at Ribersborg is particularly effective for progression, allowing you to practise techniques repeatedly without interruption. This helps build confidence quickly and reduces the frustration often experienced in deeper water locations.
Combined with a structured progression system and adaptable equipment, this session ensures you’re always working at the right level. The focus on repetition, feedback, and correct technique helps you move forward efficiently towards more advanced windsurfing.
