This fully accredited First Aid at Work course combines flexible online study with one day of in-person training in Manchester or Stockport. It’s ideal for anyone needing a workplace first aid qualification that meets legal requirements and covers a wide range of emergency scenarios.
The course starts with two days of online learning, which you can complete at your own pace. These modules cover key theory, such as the role of a first aider, health and safety regulations, and the recognition and management of various conditions. The online platform is user-friendly, mobile accessible, and includes video demonstrations, interactive quizzes and downloadable resources to help you prepare for the in-person session.
The final day is held at one of three Greater Manchester venues – Stockport, Audenshaw, or Trafford Park – and focuses on practical skills. You’ll take part in scenario-based training using CPR mannequins, anti-choking vests and EpiPen trainers, guided by experienced instructors. Topics covered include CPR, unconsciousness, seizures, heart conditions, trauma, choking, bleeding, head injuries, diabetes and more. By the end of the day, you’ll feel confident applying first aid in real workplace situations. Every participant leaves with a nationally recognised certificate valid for three years, a First Aid manual, and long-term access to a refresher course and AI First Aid chatbot for ongoing support.
In-person sessions are delivered at three accessible locations in Greater Manchester:
The Guildhall, Stockport (SK1 3UA) – Easily reached by public transport and offers free on-site parking
Warren Bruce Court, Trafford Park (M17 1LB) – Located within the business district with nearby tram and bus connections
Fairfield Golf Club, Audenshaw (M34 5FA) – A relaxed setting with free parking, just minutes from the M60
All venues are equipped for hands-on training and offer refreshments throughout the day. Clear joining instructions are provided after booking, and all are suitable for both local attendees and those travelling from surrounding areas.
No previous First Aid experience is required. The blended format is suitable for complete beginners as well as those refreshing or upgrading their training. Online modules can be paused and resumed to suit your availability and learning speed.
You must complete all online content before attending the practical session. Participants should also be physically able to take part in tasks such as CPR on a manikin. Please get in touch if you have any accessibility concerns so we can help accommodate your needs.

This course combines two days of online learning with one full day of practical, in-person training. The online modules cover essential theory, workplace legislation, and recognition of medical emergencies through videos, quizzes, and interactive content. This flexible approach allows participants to study at their own pace before applying their knowledge in a hands-on setting.
The in-person day focuses on practising skills such as CPR, choking relief, bleeding control, and managing complex injuries using specialist equipment. Experienced trainers lead realistic scenarios to build confidence, ensuring participants are ready to respond effectively in real workplace situations.
The course is suitable for employees, supervisors, managers, or anyone designated as a workplace First Aider. It meets Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations requirements and is ideal for businesses of all sizes wanting to ensure compliance and staff safety. It also benefits individuals seeking comprehensive First Aid training with flexible study options.
No prior experience is required, making it accessible for beginners and those needing to refresh existing skills. The blend of online and practical sessions ensures that all learning styles are supported.
The Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate awarded upon successful completion is valid for three years. This is in line with Health and Safety Executive recommendations and industry standards. After three years, a refresher or requalification course is advised to maintain skills and legal compliance.

The practical session is held at one of three convenient locations across Greater Manchester: The Guildhall in Stockport, Warren Bruce Court in Trafford Park, or Fairfield Golf Club in Audenshaw. All venues offer free parking and easy access by public transport.
Each venue is fully equipped to support hands-on learning with appropriate space and training aids. Clear directions and joining instructions are provided to all participants after booking.
Yes, the online learning modules are accessible 24/7 and can be completed at your own pace. This flexibility allows participants to fit study around work or personal commitments. You can pause and resume the course as needed until the content is fully completed.
It is essential to finish all online modules before attending the in-person practical day to ensure you are prepared for hands-on training and assessment.
Trainers provide supportive, clear instruction and offer extra guidance during practical sessions to help all participants succeed. If someone finds certain skills challenging, additional demonstrations and coaching are provided to build confidence.
If, after support, a participant cannot meet the practical requirements, trainers will discuss further options such as additional practice or reassessment. The goal is always to ensure competency while maintaining safety and standards.
An optional upgrade is available to include Emergency Paediatric First Aid certification. This is especially useful for those working with children or in childcare settings. The upgrade does not extend the course length but adds training on child-specific emergencies like infant CPR and choking.
Adding this option ensures your certification covers a broader range of situations, preparing you to respond confidently to emergencies involving both adults and children.
