Coral reefs around Tiran Island fill most of the day, with a short supervised intro dive tucked in for first-timers. Hotel pickup from Sharm El Sheikh is included, and snorkeling is the main event with a 15-minute first dive for anyone who wants to try tanks.
Open strait water surrounds the boat as you reach Tiran reefs, with coral gardens visible through glass-clear shallows and fish moving in bright schools below the surface. Snorkelling fills most of the day, with a relaxed rhythm of entries and returns to the deck between reef stops.
For those curious about tanks, a brief supervised descent offers a memorable taste of breathing underwater without committing to a full course. The intro moment sits inside a broader snorkel day, so the atmosphere stays light and exploratory rather than technical.
Tiran Island sits in the Strait of Tiran at the mouth of the Gulf of Aqaba, a boat run from Sharm El Sheikh marinas. The reefs around the island are known for coral and fish in clear Red Sea water rather than a land visit to the island itself.
Hotel pickup in the Sharm El Sheikh area is included. Exact moorings shift with wind and current, so the skipper briefs each snorkel stop on the boat. Most of the eight hours are on the water or at reef stops, with deck time between entries.
No scuba certification is required. You should be happy in open water with a mask and snorkel, able to stay near the boat, and willing to follow a guide. The 15-minute introductory dive is supervised and optional in practice if you only want to snorkel.
Say if you are nervous about the dive so the crew can keep you on snorkel only. Child and infant places are available. Comfort in the sea still decides who enters at each stop. Bring sun protection for time on deck between snorkels.
The day combines a full Tiran reef snorkel trip with a short introductory dive in one booking from Sharm El Sheikh hotels. You are not asked to arrange a separate dive centre for a first breath underwater. Hotel pickup and boat briefings keep the plan in one eight-hour window.
If you want Red Sea reefs beyond the resort house reef and a supervised first dive without a certification course, this format fits. Most of the day stays on snorkel, with the intro dive as a short add-on for first-timers who want to try tanks.
The day is set at about eight hours from hotel collection to return. That window covers pickup in Sharm El Sheikh, the boat run toward Tiran Island, snorkel stops, a 15-minute introductory dive, and the journey back to the hotel strip.
Exact clock times shift with sea state and how long the group spends at each reef. Allow the full day in your plan and keep the evening loosely free until you are back at the hotel.
Yes. Hotel pickup in the Sharm El Sheikh area is included. You will be given a collection window so you can wait in reception with swimwear and a dry layer ready.
Stay in the pickup area until the crew arrive, because the marina is not a walk from most hotels. If your stay is outside the usual hotel zone, say so when you enquire so the team can confirm whether collection still applies.
Tiran Island sits in the Strait of Tiran, a boat run from Sharm El Sheikh, with reefs known for coral and fish in clear water. The day is a snorkel sea trip to those reefs, not a land visit to the island itself.
Exact moorings shift with wind and current. Treat the outing as Tiran reefs rather than a locked buoy list. The skipper will brief each snorkel stop on the boat.
Yes. A 15-minute introductory dive is part of this day, aimed at a first breath underwater with a guide, not a pair of certified dives. The rest of the day is snorkelling on the Tiran reefs.
You do not need a scuba certification. Listen to the briefing, stay with the instructor in the water, and treat 15 minutes as a short supervised go rather than a full dive course. If you only want to snorkel, say so on the boat.
A meal is not part of this Tiran snorkel and intro dive day. Bring water and a small snack if you eat little in the morning, and plan lunch or dinner after you return to the hotel if you want a sit-down meal.
Drinks beyond anything handed out on the boat, photos sold on site, and souvenirs are extra. Choose this outing for the reefs and the short dive, not for a restaurant outing.
This outing runs for groups of 1 to 35 guests. You may share the boat with other travellers on the same departure, which is normal for a Tiran day out of Sharm El Sheikh.
Child and infant places are available. Who enters the water still depends on comfort in the sea and how the crew set each stop. Bring sun protection for time on deck between snorkels.
No. The intro dive is a 15-minute supervised first go, not a course that issues a certification. You leave with the experience of breathing underwater, not a card to dive independently later.
The main day is snorkelling at Tiran. If you later want a full course, that is a different format. Choose this outing for the island reefs and the short intro, without expecting paperwork at the end of the eight hours.
Boat days to Tiran need good sea conditions. Strong wind, swell or poor visibility can change which reefs you use, delay the start, or in unusual weather stop the day from running as planned.
You will be told as early as practical if the plan has to change. Bring a layer for the boat, and treat the Red Sea as open water rather than a pool. The aim is still snorkel stops and the intro dive when the sea allows.
Wear swimwear under clothes you do not mind getting damp, plus a dry layer and sun protection for the boat. Shoes that grip help on a wet deck. A towel and a small dry bag keep phones safe.
If you have a mask that fits well, bring it. Use reef-safe sun cream well before you enter the water. You do not need to bring scuba kit for the 15-minute intro. Leave jewellery you care about in the hotel safe.
You should be happy in open water with a mask and snorkel, able to hold a line or stay near the boat, and willing to follow a guide. The intro dive is optional in practice if you only want to snorkel, but it is part of the day for first-timers who want a short go under.
No certification is required. If you are nervous about the dive, tell the crew so they can keep you on snorkel only. Child places are available. Comfort in the sea still decides who enters.
