6 Hour Course

Hoogtepunten van de activiteit:

Being confident on the water isn't just about knowing how to paddle — it's also about knowing what to do when things don't go to plan.

The British Canoeing Awarding Body Paddlesport Safety & Rescue Course (PSRC) is designed to give paddlers the practical skills and knowledge needed to operate more safely and deal with common problems on the water. The course is suitable for paddlers using a range of craft, including canoes, kayaks and paddleboards, and provides the foundations for developing safety and rescue skills throughout the British Canoeing Awarding Body pathway.

Throughout the day, we'll explore practical rescue strategies, safety frameworks and techniques that can be used to deal with common paddling incidents. The emphasis is on developing simple, effective skills that you can understand, practise and apply when you need them.

Belangrijkste vaardigheden:

Prior understanding of how to paddle preferred craft

Waarom voor ons kiezen:

Safety is at the heart of everything we do.

With experience across kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding and sea kayaking, we'll bring practical experience from a range of paddling environments to the course. Our aim is to make the training practical, engaging and relevant to the type of paddling you actually do.

We'll encourage you to understand the principles behind the techniques, rather than simply memorising a series of rescues. This helps you develop the judgement and confidence to choose an appropriate response when situations don't go exactly to plan.

Based in Fort William, our sessions are delivered in the Highlands with the location selected according to the needs of the group and appropriate conditions.
