What to Expect 🚗🌄

Your day begins with a morning pick-up from Malta, followed by a private powerboat transfer to Gozo whenever conditions permit. On arrival, the guide transports the group to the quad bike base, where you receive a safety briefing and complete the inspection form. Once equipped with helmets and hairnets, you depart in a convoy, following your tour leader across Gozo’s rural road network and compact off-road tracks. The quad bikes are easy to operate and fully automatic, allowing you to focus on the terrain and scenery.

Throughout the day, the route includes scheduled stops to explore bays, valleys and coastal viewpoints. Locations such as Qala Belvedere, Ramla L-Ħamra, the Xwejni Salt Pans and Dwejra Bay are visited, with free time for photos and short walks away from the vehicles. A stop at the Gozo Crafts Centre allows time for tastings and optional shopping. During high season, the guide includes a swim stop at one of Gozo’s bays, depending on sea conditions. Lunch is provided mid-tour, with water included.

In the afternoon, the convoy completes its circular route and returns to the base. After the quad bikes are returned and inspected, guests travel to the departure point for the return crossing. When weather allows, this includes a 20-minute powerboat ride along Comino’s coastline, passing the Blue Lagoon and the sea caves before transferring to a minivan for final drop-off in Malta.

Location 📍

The full-day route operates entirely on Gozo, covering the island’s northern coastline, central high ground, western cliffs, and eastern valleys. This provides a broad overview of Gozo’s varied geological features, terraced farmland, and coastal formations. The combination of paved roads and compact off-road sections makes the terrain accessible for most first-time quad bike riders.

All transfers begin and end on Malta, with departures typically running through Ċirkewwa. The powerboat route crosses the South Comino Channel and approaches Gozo from the south-east, offering good visibility of both islands. The final coastal ride past Comino’s landmarks is included whenever sea conditions are appropriate.

Prerequisites ✔️

Drivers must be 21 or older and present both a valid driving licence (original or copy) and an original ID document such as a passport or identity card. Passengers must be at least 4 years old. All guests must wear helmets throughout the tour, and long hair should be tied securely under the supplied hairnet. A credit card is required to cover the insurance excess guarantee.

This activity is not suitable for pregnant guests or those with back or heart conditions. Anyone joining should feel comfortable being outdoors for several hours and capable of sitting on a quad bike for moderate durations. Swimwear and towels are recommended during high season, as swim stops are offered whenever safe.
