We both loved it , the instructor was a gentleman . Clear , concise instructions and very helpful . Can’t remember his name sorry , very tall with long hair
It was brilliant- wish it could've been longer (a half day, for example, to explore further afield). Harrison was our guide, and he set the perfect amount of challenge to relaxation. Very knowledgeable about the area, pirate/tea caves and local animal life. We were also asked in advance if we…
Jamie was a good instructor but a bit disappointed with the time snorkeling and not seeing anything. The sighting of the seals and info about the coast was great
Had a fantastic time, the instructors were great and would definitley do again in the future.
Everyone was so friendly. My crew leader Alex was really supportive and encouraging as I am not an avid swimmer and so easing my way into kayaking and coasteering was a breeze. The team back at their headquarters were amazing ... keeping my baggage safe as I toured and even…
Staff are very helpful! My boyfriend, dad and uncle really enjoyed this. They saw a playful seal ❤️ would recommend!
We had a really good time with Heath today. He showed us all the safety information and kept checking we were all okay. Instead of just staying out snorkelling he showed us some caves and told us about the history and cool knowledge about the caves and rocks. Had a…
We had an amazing time with heath. He was so lovely and gave us a bit of history as we went along. Very caring and made sure we had a fab time

Your adventure begins at our travelling HQ on the estuary banks, where you’ll be fitted with a wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet, and receive a safety briefing. The instructor will guide you through paddle techniques, river safety, and essential kayak handling before setting off.
Paddling along the estuary, you’ll navigate calm waters, stopping to observe wildlife, sandbanks, and lagoons. Your instructor will answer questions and share stories about the river’s biodiversity and local history, creating a rich and personalised experience.
The session is fully adaptable, allowing you to explore at your own pace. You can focus on improving your kayaking technique, try river snorkelling, or simply enjoy a relaxed paddle in a scenic environment, making each trip unique to your group.
The Gannel Estuary stretches along the northern Cornish coast, providing a peaceful retreat from the busy beaches of Newquay. The waterway winds through natural lagoons, mudflats, and golden sandbanks, which are home to a variety of birdlife and other wildlife.
The surrounding area is rich in history, with tales of local fishermen and smuggling along the estuary’s shores. Its combination of natural beauty and heritage makes it an ideal setting for a private kayaking adventure suitable for families, couples, or solo paddlers.
This session is suitable for complete beginners, and no prior kayaking experience is required. You just need to be comfortable in the water and ready to follow safety guidance from your instructor.
Participants should wear swimwear under their wetsuit and bring a towel and suitable clothing for the weather. The instructor will ensure everyone receives personalised attention to make the session safe and enjoyable.
The centre provides fully private kayaking sessions with expert instructors who adapt the experience to your group’s needs. The team has extensive knowledge of the Gannel Estuary’s wildlife and history, offering insights that make each paddle memorable and educational.
Safety and comfort are a priority, with high-quality equipment, heated changing facilities, and a flexible approach to weather conditions. The team also provides optional extras like river snorkelling and photography, ensuring a tailored experience that meets your preferences.
No prior kayaking experience is required for this private session. The instructor will provide a full safety briefing, introduce you to the equipment, and teach you the basic paddle techniques to ensure you feel confident on the water.
You’ll receive personalised tuition at a pace that suits you, so whether you are completely new to kayaking or have some experience, the session can be adapted to meet your needs. Beginners are fully supported throughout the tour.
It’s recommended to wear swimwear or lightweight clothing that can get wet under your wetsuit. Footwear should be secure, such as water shoes or trainers, as you may step into shallow water when entering or exiting the kayak.
The centre provides wetsuits, buoyancy aids, and helmets, so you’ll be fully equipped to stay warm and safe. You may also want to bring a towel and change of clothes for after the session.

Yes, the session can go ahead in light rain or cooler weather. Instructors monitor conditions closely to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort and can adapt the plan if necessary.
In the event of severe weather, alternative arrangements may be offered, such as a rescheduled session or guidance on safer paddling areas. The team prioritises safety while keeping the experience enjoyable.
The estuary is home to a variety of wildlife, including birds such as egrets and herons, as well as seals and other aquatic creatures. Instructors will point out wildlife along the way and share information about local habitats.
Wildlife sightings depend on the season and time of day, but even a short paddle often provides opportunities to see some of the estuary’s native species in their natural environment.
