Elevate your underwater skills and enjoy effortless control with the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course. By refining your buoyancy, you’ll move gracefully, reduce air consumption, and explore marine environments without disturbing delicate ecosystems. The course combines practical dives with expert instruction to build both technique and confidence underwater.
Initial sessions focus on theory and briefings covering advanced buoyancy techniques, weight distribution, finning methods, and breath control. You’ll learn how subtle adjustments can make a big difference in stability and energy use underwater.
Practical dives provide hands-on application of these techniques in real diving conditions. Instructors guide exercises on hovering, slow and controlled ascents and descents, and precise navigation, helping you integrate new skills seamlessly.
Environmental awareness is emphasised throughout the course. You’ll develop the ability to explore underwater without impacting coral, seagrass, or marine life, learning strategies to dive responsibly while observing ecosystems closely.
Training takes place at Littlehampton Marina, offering calm, sheltered waters ideal for practising precise buoyancy control. The marina provides a safe and accessible environment for divers of all skill levels.
Nearby dive sites are selected for their variety of underwater terrain, allowing you to apply buoyancy skills in different conditions. Clear waters and manageable depths make these sites perfect for skill refinement and observation of marine ecosystems.
Participants must hold a Jr/Open Water Diver certification or an equivalent qualification. A basic medical screening confirms fitness for diving and practical skill application.
Competence in swimming and comfort in water are essential. Instructors provide step-by-step guidance during dives, ensuring skills are refined safely and efficiently.
Expert PADI instructors deliver personalised coaching, focusing on practical techniques and smooth underwater movement. Their guidance helps divers master buoyancy while boosting confidence and control.
Small group sizes allow for tailored instruction and immediate feedback. Modern facilities, well-maintained equipment, and handpicked dive sites provide a safe, engaging, and effective learning environment for enhancing underwater skills.
This course is designed to refine your buoyancy skills underwater. You’ll learn to hover, ascend, and descend with precision, making your movements more efficient and conserving air.
Practising these skills also allows for smoother interactions with marine life, reducing the risk of damaging delicate ecosystems during dives.
Divers must have Jr/Open Water certification or equivalent. This ensures you have the foundational skills necessary for safe and controlled diving.
Instructors offer tailored guidance throughout practical dives to enhance skill development and confidence underwater.
Two open water dives form the practical component. During these sessions, instructors focus on controlled movements, buoyancy adjustments, and environmental awareness.
Exercises include hovering, slow ascents and descents, and practising minimal-effort finning techniques to enhance control and efficiency.
All necessary scuba gear is included, such as a wetsuit, BCD, regulator, tank, and weights. You can also use your personal equipment if preferred.
The centre provides guidance on proper setup and adjustments to ensure buoyancy control techniques are effective and comfortable.
You’ll develop precise buoyancy, efficient air consumption, and improved underwater navigation. The ability to interact safely with marine life is also emphasised.
These skills not only improve your diving technique but also increase safety and confidence during all types of dives.
Yes, the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty certification is internationally recognised and counts toward other advanced PADI courses and specialties.
It is valuable for any diver wishing to enhance skills, reduce air consumption, and dive more responsibly in diverse environments.
