Paddleboarding Tour from Saundersfoot to Monkstone

About two hours from the harbour and back, including a short brief and time on the water. Most of that window is spent paddling rather than standing on the slip talking.

Give yourself 15 minutes at the harbour so changing does not eat into the paddle. The start sits around high tide, and we confirm the time the day before.

Saundersfoot Harbour, SA69 9HE, at the Marine Centre of Excellence. Park near the harbour and walk to the slip. We confirm the exact meeting point the day before.

The harbour and the village get busy in summer, so leave extra time. If the start has to move with the tide, we send the new time.

A paddleboard, a paddle, a buoyancy aid and a wetsuit, fitted at the harbour. We match the board to your size and how the water is working that day.

Leave phones and bags in the car. If you need medication on the water, give it to the guide at the start.

No. First-timers are welcome. You should be happy on the water and able to kneel or stand with a buoyancy aid on. The guide shows you how to paddle and turn before you leave the harbour.

If you already stand comfortably, say so at the brief. The route can take in more of the cliffs when the swell allows.

Eight. Anyone under 18 needs an adult with them on the water. Children should be happy standing or kneeling on a board and getting wet.

Tell us ages so we can put the right boards out. The pace stays with the least confident person, so a mixed family still works, just at a calmer speed.

Wind on the harbour wall decides more than rain. We move time or hold the start when this stretch is unsafe, or if we cannot run a useful paddle from the harbour.

Check your messages the evening before if you are travelling a long way, so you have the confirmed start before you leave.

Swimwear, a towel, a warm dry layer, sunscreen and shoes you are happy to get wet. A water bottle helps. Get changed into swimwear before you arrive if you want to skip the queue.

Flip-flops are fine for the walk to the slip. Leave valuables in the car. Pack a bag for wet swimwear afterwards.

Happy in the sea is the bar. You paddle in a buoyancy aid, but you can still fall in and you still need to be comfortable with that. A guide stays with the group.

If you are very nervous, say so in advance. The first minutes stay in the harbour until you are steady on the board.

The paddle leaves the sandy harbour and works along the cliffs towards Monkstone Point. On a calm day the route can look into caves and along sheltered water under the headland.

The exact line follows wind, swell and tide. We confirm the plan the day before so you know whether it is a short harbour paddle or a longer stretch towards the point.

Yes, as long as everyone is eight or over and happy on the water. The pace stays with the least confident person, so mixed ages still work on the same tour.

An adult needs to stay with anyone under 18. Tell us numbers and ages so we can put the right boards out at the harbour.
