This supervised programme introduces children to scuba in a safe, shallow-water environment. With guidance from trained instructors, young participants learn how basic equipment works and take their first breaths underwater in no more than two metres of water.
The session begins with a simple equipment introduction, giving children the chance to see and understand the mask, fins, regulator, and buoyancy device in a relaxed environment. Instructors explain how each piece works and show participants how to use the equipment safely. This helps build confidence before entering the water.
In confined water, children practise breathing from a regulator for the first time, learning to stay relaxed while adjusting to the new sensation. Instructors demonstrate and supervise basic skills such as clearing a regulator, equalising, and simple hand signals. The depth is limited to two metres, creating a safe and manageable environment tailored for young divers.
Once comfortable, children can move around the shallow area, practising buoyancy control and experiencing the excitement of being underwater with proper supervision. The pace is child-friendly, ensuring each participant feels supported and engaged throughout their introduction to scuba.
The experience takes place in confined-water settings designed for beginner-level skills and youth programmes. These environments offer consistent conditions, controlled depth, and clear visibility, giving children a safe space to learn and explore. Entry and exit points are easy to manage, allowing for a smooth and stress-free experience.
Facilities include shaded areas for briefings, clean equipment stations, and comfortable spaces for parents to observe. Everything is arranged to make the session enjoyable, safe, and well organised for both children and families.
Participants must be at least eight years old, comfortable in the water, and able to follow instructions. No prior experience is required, and children do not need to be strong swimmers, though being confident in shallow water helps.
Parental consent is required, and parents are encouraged to remain nearby during the session. Children should be in good general health and free from any conditions that may affect their ability to participate in shallow scuba activities.
Sessions are run by experienced instructors who specialise in working with young divers. Their approach focuses on safety, patience, and creating a positive first experience. Children are supported at every step, ensuring they enjoy their introduction to underwater breathing without feeling rushed.
Facilities are clean and welcoming, with well-maintained equipment sized appropriately for younger participants. The team promotes a friendly, family-oriented environment where children feel encouraged to learn and have fun while developing early confidence in the water.
This programme introduces children to scuba diving in a controlled, shallow-water setting. It focuses on making young divers comfortable with equipment, breathing underwater, and understanding simple safety skills in a fun, low-pressure environment.
The depth is limited to two metres, ensuring the session remains safe and suitable for beginners. Instructors stay close throughout to guide, supervise, and support each child.
Yes. The session is designed specifically for children aged eight and older. Depth limits, equipment sizing, skill selection, and supervision levels are all adapted for young participants. Safety protocols are strictly followed, and instructors are experienced in working with children.
Children learn only basic, age-appropriate skills and remain in confined water with constant one-to-one or small-group guidance.
The full experience lasts two to three hours, including introduction, equipment fitting, briefings, and the underwater session. The structure ensures children are not rushed and can progress at a comfortable pace.
Time in the water varies depending on each child’s comfort level and the overall group readiness. Instructors adjust the session to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
Children do not need to be strong swimmers, but they must feel comfortable in shallow water and be able to follow simple instructions. The depth is limited, and buoyancy devices support their positioning throughout the session.
If your child is unsure, the instructor can provide extra support or spend more time building confidence before entering the water.
Participants use child-sized scuba gear, including a mask, fins, regulator, buoyancy device, and scuba cylinder. Equipment is lightweight and adjusted carefully to ensure a secure fit.
Children are shown how each part works before entering the water. Instructors handle tasks such as cylinder checks, inflation, and safety controls.
Children practise breathing from a regulator, clearing water from a regulator if needed, and using basic hand signals. They may also learn simple buoyancy control, such as hovering or gentle movement in shallow water.
All skills are taught slowly and clearly, with demonstrations and hands-on support to help children feel at ease.
Your child should bring swimwear, a towel, dry clothing, and a reusable water bottle. Comfortable footwear is helpful for walking around the facility, and an extra set of clothes is recommended for after the session.
All scuba equipment is provided, so children do not need to bring any technical gear.
Parents are welcome to stay nearby during briefings and may observe from designated viewing areas. Staying close by often helps children feel more secure and relaxed, especially during their first diving experience.
Instructors will update parents after the dive and provide guidance on how children can build on the experience if they enjoyed it.
This experience is not a certification, but it is an excellent introduction to scuba and can prepare children for future junior courses. It helps them develop confidence and familiarity with basic equipment and underwater breathing.
If they enjoy the session, instructors can recommend appropriate next steps for their age and ability.
The session is designed to go at the child’s pace. Instructors begin in very shallow water and allow children to practise breathing on the surface before submerging. If a child needs extra time or reassurance, the instructor will adjust the session accordingly.
Nervousness is normal, and most children become more confident as they learn to trust the equipment and understand how to communicate underwater.
