Sail into one of the quietest corners of the Mediterranean on this 3-day retreat to Cabrera Island. Step aboard a classic sailboat and experience a weekend centred around silence, simplicity, and the rhythm of the sea. This escape blends gentle adventure with mindfulness — sailing, swimming, and reconnecting with nature while surrounded by protected waters and untouched coastline.
The adventure begins at the port of Palma, where you’ll be welcomed aboard the beautifully maintained Perseo XXI. Once sails are set, the noise of the city fades, replaced by open skies and the soft rhythm of the waves. The route to Cabrera takes you through shimmering turquoise waters, offering time to learn a little about sailing or simply unwind on deck. As evening arrives, dinner is shared at anchor, followed by stargazing in the calm of the bay.
The second day is devoted to exploring the natural world around you. You’ll start the morning with a quiet breakfast on board, before heading out for a mix of water-based activities — snorkelling among colourful fish, paddleboarding through hidden coves, and visiting the famous Blue Cave, where sunlight illuminates the water with an almost surreal glow. Back on the boat, meals are freshly cooked with local ingredients, and evenings are spent relaxing, reflecting, or chatting with others beneath the stars.
The final morning is left open for slow moments — perhaps one last swim or a cup of coffee while the sea glistens around you. The return sail to Palma is unhurried, giving you time to take the helm or simply watch the island drift into the horizon. You’ll step ashore feeling recharged, grounded, and reminded of life’s quieter rhythm.
Cabrera Island sits off the southern coast of Mallorca and forms part of a protected national park known for its clear waters, diverse wildlife, and peaceful atmosphere. Access is limited to preserve its natural environment, making it one of the most exclusive destinations in the Balearics. Sailing here offers a rare chance to experience unspoilt bays, sea caves, and landscapes untouched by modern development.
The retreat begins and ends in Palma de Mallorca, where guests are met and transferred directly to the yacht’s mooring. From there, the voyage heads south towards Cabrera, with time to swim or relax at anchor along the way. The island itself offers incredible opportunities for marine exploration, photography, and simple quiet moments away from the mainland.
You’ll stay aboard the Perseo XXI, a classic ketch sailboat full of charm and warmth. The private double cabin includes an ensuite bathroom, soft lighting, and natural wood interiors that make it a comfortable place to rest after a day at sea. For families, the salon can be transformed into a playful bunk space, allowing everyone to enjoy time together while still having their own corner of comfort.
The yacht is equipped with all the essentials — shaded seating areas, sunbeds on deck, a dining area, and modern facilities such as WiFi and a small kitchen. It feels less like a hotel and more like joining a family home that just happens to float.
This retreat is open to anyone with a sense of curiosity and a wish to slow down. No previous sailing experience is needed — the crew handles all navigation, and guests are welcome to join in or simply relax. The itinerary is designed to suit adults and children alike, making it ideal for couples, small families, or close friends.
Life on board is led by Angel, an experienced captain who grew up by the sea and brings both skill and calm confidence to every voyage. His enthusiasm for sailing is infectious, and he’s always happy to share what he knows — whether that’s teaching you how to handle the sails or explaining how to navigate by the stars.
Alongside him is Yoli, who ensures everyone feels comfortable and cared for from the moment they arrive. Her warm presence and thoughtful guidance create an atmosphere that feels safe and genuine. She’s particularly gifted at holding meaningful conversations that help guests unwind, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.
Together, they’ve made the Perseo XXI more than just a boat — it’s a welcoming family home where guests are invited to share in their way of life. Their approach is simple: authentic hospitality, great food, and time spent with purpose. For those seeking a peaceful yet active escape at sea, this retreat offers something truly unique.
This sailing experience is designed for small, private groups of up to four people. Typically, this means one family or two adults with two children under 15 years old, allowing for a relaxed and personal outing without the presence of large crowds. The setup ensures that everyone has space to enjoy the day comfortably on board and allows the crew to focus fully on the group’s comfort and safety.
The smaller group size also means more flexibility in how the trip unfolds. Whether guests prefer a more hands-on approach to sailing or would rather sit back and unwind while taking in the views, the crew can adapt the pace and itinerary accordingly. This intimate format keeps the experience friendly and easy-going from start to finish.
The trip welcomes singles, couples, or small family groups, with the only condition being that guests are happy to sail alongside the crew’s children. This gives the experience a warm, family-oriented feel rather than a purely commercial charter. It’s particularly well suited to parents travelling with children or those who enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere while still getting to experience a real sailing day.
Although there are no strict age restrictions, families are generally made up of two adults and up to two children under 15 years old. This balance keeps things safe and enjoyable for everyone, ensuring there’s plenty of room on deck and in the seating areas while maintaining a sociable yet relaxed environment throughout the day.
You’ll need only the essentials — comfortable clothing, swimwear, sunscreen, and a light jacket for evenings. Towels, snorkelling gear, and paddleboards are all provided on board, so you can travel light. A pair of soft-soled shoes is also recommended for moving around the deck safely.
It’s also a good idea to bring any personal toiletries, a reusable water bottle, and a book or journal if you like to reflect. Beyond that, everything you need for comfort and enjoyment is already on the yacht.
Your retreat starts at the Real Club Náutico de Palma, the main marina in Palma de Mallorca. From the moment you arrive, everything is taken care of. The team will collect you directly from Palma de Mallorca Airport and bring you to the port where the Perseo XXI is moored. It’s a smooth and simple transition — no need to worry about transfers or navigation.
Once you reach the marina, you’ll be welcomed on board with a drink and introduced to the crew. There’s time to settle in, store your luggage, and familiarise yourself with the yacht before departure. The captain will then provide a short safety briefing and an overview of the weekend ahead before setting sail toward Cabrera Island.
Accommodation is designed to feel like a comfortable floating home, offering both privacy and togetherness. The main cabin is a private double room with an en-suite bathroom, perfect for couples or parents wanting a peaceful retreat space. The soft lighting and gentle motion of the boat create an atmosphere of calm that makes it easy to rest and unwind after each day at sea.
Families travelling with children can make use of the convertible berths in the salon area, where little ones can sleep safely and feel part of the adventure. The setup is both practical and cosy, giving everyone their own space while maintaining the warmth of being on a shared voyage.
Meals on board are freshly prepared using local ingredients, celebrating authentic Mediterranean flavours. Expect a variety of homemade Spanish tapas, grilled meats, and fresh fish cooked on the BBQ, accompanied by drinks such as sangria, cava, and beer. Meals are enjoyed in relaxed settings — on deck under the sun, or at anchor surrounded by the peaceful sound of the waves.
If you have specific dietary requirements, these are always catered for. Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, or require a gluten-free option, the crew ensures every guest enjoys delicious and nourishing food. The aim is not fine dining, but sharing honest, flavourful meals that reflect the simple pleasure of life at sea.
Not at all. The retreat is designed for anyone, regardless of experience level. The captain and crew are there to guide you every step of the way, making it safe and easy to get involved in sailing if you wish. You can learn to steer, handle sails, or simply watch and enjoy the process from the comfort of the deck.
For those who prefer to relax, there’s no expectation to participate — the trip moves at your own pace. The focus is on balance: learning new skills if you like, or simply soaking up the peace of the open sea.
Each day is a mix of relaxation and gentle adventure. You’ll have the chance to swim, snorkel, and paddleboard in some of the most beautiful and protected waters in the Mediterranean. There are guided nature walks, sessions on stargazing and celestial navigation, and plenty of time for mindful reflection.
Evenings are often spent anchored in quiet coves, enjoying shared meals, good conversation, and the rhythm of the waves. There’s also the opportunity to visit the famous Blue Cave of Cabrera, a natural wonder where the sunlight transforms the sea into an extraordinary shade of blue.
